Holiday weekend -- let's make it enjoyable.

Giants -119....Harden's first start back after getting hurt in his last start, seperating his non throwing shoulder. I don't know specifics of the injury but I feel it had to throw off his regiment this week. Harden's stats in day games are also poor -- 0-2 6.32 era. Hermanson can give up some runs too, as his 4.50 era indicates, but the Giants usually produce well in his starts, and he hasn't lost a decision since May 8th. Giants have been red hot, while the A's seem to blow it on the road. Like the Giants chances here.

BJays/Expos over 8 +100....Halladay really has been having troubles on the road -- with a 5.09 era on the road this year, and a 6.75 era in his last three. Armas is equally as poor, with a 7.82 era in his last three. Game is in San Juan, which is a small park and the balls can fly. Bruce Marsh's games have gone over 6 of the last 7 he's been behind the plate. Line is low because neither of these teams are offensive juggernaughts, and due to Halladay's reputation, but all indications point to the over in my mind.

Lots I like today-- hope that's a good thing.

Cards -154....St. Louis put that little losing streak behind them and got back in gear last night. Marquis has been their best hurler as of late, while Franklin has been really struggling. Not thrilled with Marquis' era at home (5.17), but like his era in day games (3.72). Franklins' era of 7.56 last three and 5.20 during the day tells me that this deadly St Louis lineup will put some serious runs up today.

BoSox -159...Curt Schilling was brought in for this very reason -- win games when they really need it. Back to back extra inning games does put stress on the pen, but I think Schilling will go deep into tonights game. Thompson is 1-4, 7.94 in his last five starts, and the Red Sox lineup is going to explode one of these days. Let's hope it's tonight. Don't put a ton of stock in umpires for sides, but this doesn't hurt: favorites are 13-3 this year in games that Hernandez is behind the plate.

Adding Padres/Royals over 7.5 +100 (2x) --- Padres eat up leftys, and May has an era of over 6 at night. Eaton has been great over the last three, but his night era is still over 4. Pitchers park, which scares me a bit, but this is a very low number for these pitchers.

Exciting and lucky finish for me on the Padres game makes it a winning day. Will be back with the holiday picks a bit later.
