The community pages have been done away with so I am back posting here in the forums. Good news for some, not so good for others.

My record of all recommendations posted in forums and/or the community pages for non US Sports stands at + 456.21 points profit. This bet record is from October 2002 to date and I have managed to produce a profit in those 20 months (1 month taken off to re-charge batteries) 19 times.

My record for all US SPORTS since I started posting in the community pages from October 2003 is + 67.50 points profit.

Tour de France Stage 2

Petacchi to win Stage 2 @ 13/8 x 2 points LOST -2.0

A loss on Petacchi on Stage 1, however, Petacchi is by far the best sprinter in cycling at present in a bunch finish. Over the last 12 months he has a near 33% record of stage wins when he is in the field.

Overall records will be updated on a fortnightly basis.

Stage 5

Stage 5

Well it was good to finally get off the mark. A double maximum recommendation on US Postal in the team time trial ran out comfortable winners in the end. That is my fourth double maximum I have advised and my record for these selections is 100%. Moving onto Stage 5 and it is once again a very good possibility of a bunch finish as the course today is flat with only one 4th category climb coming early on. Petacchi has not been at his best so far after taking time off out of the saddle before the Tour de France. With the first few days behind him and time running out before the Mountain stages where he will exit the race, this represents one of the last few remaining chances to bet him. And for once the books are prepared to offer above value prices as 4/1 is readily available, however there are a few who offer 9/2 (+450) and so as this price is an over-reaction to his failings so far on the tour, lets hope this turns into a bunch finish and he's able to come fast and late.

Recommendation:

A. Petacchi to win stage 5 @ 9/2 x 1.5 points LOST -1.5

Stage 10

R. Virenque (stage 10) @ 10/1 (+1000) x 2 pointsWON +20.0

This is the longest stage in this years Tour and see's a total of nine mountain climbs with one Grade 1 and two Grade 2's. Today is also Bastille day in France and the French would like nothing more than a Frenchman winning this stage on their day. This presents an opportunity to take a very large looking 10/1 (+1000) about Virenque. He is much addored by the French and with all the climbs today this is not only an opportunity to win the stage but to propel himself into the lead for the "polka dot jersey" which I have recommended a pre tour bet on. Fingers crossed that this is Virenques day in the saddle.

Stage 11

Bettini (stage 11) @ 14/1 (+1400) x 1 pointLOST -1.0

Mancebo (stage 11) @ 50/1 (+5000) x 0.5 points LOST -0.5

Stage 12

L. Armstrong (stage 12) @ 5/2 x 2 points LOST -2.0

Stage 13

L. Armstrong (stage 13) @ 5/2 x 2 points WON +5.0

Many thanks to my friends at sports-betting.co.uk for help with these Tour de France recommendations.

Latest Update

Latest Update

The Tour moves into it's last week culminating with the traditional run into Paris on Sunday 25th.

There are several mountain stages left in the Alps but more importantly is the individual time trial. This will be the stage the will see Lance Armstrong once again confirm that he is the worlds best cyclist.

Virenque will probably go off the front early in one or two of the Mountain stages to add to his points tally in the King of the Mountains and if he is able to gain another dozen or so points he will win the Polka Dot Jersey.

So far the Tour de France has presented some good opportunities and the recommendations have produced +22 points profit so far. If both Armstrong and Virenque are successful then another 9.125 points of profit will have been added.

Stage 15

L. Armstrong (stage 15) @ 7/1 x 2 points WON +14.0

Stage 16

L. Armstrong (stage 16) @ 8/13 x 3 points WON +1.85
