Me and a friend got screwed last night in the SF-Colorado game because we bet on SF but listed the starting pitchers as I always do...........Well Kennedy for Colorado got scratched for some reason and SF went on to win but our wager was cancelled since I listed the starters.
Am I right but saying you should always list your pitchers or is he right saying it doe'snt matter and you should just "action" all of your bets?

I think is better to take the pitchers, but I usually take action when my play is a big dog, so if the great pitcher of the other team is scratched I have more oportunity with a great price; but, the smart move is to take the pitchers, why??? because that's the 70-80% of your handicapping, based in the pitcher so if their are not playing then the play is not what you want!!!

Just my thought!

In my opinion the starting pitchers are about 80% of the capping I do for a game. I wouldn't ever play the action if picking a side, and probably wouldn't if I had a total either. I think you run the risk of losing a lot of value if the pitching change does not go your way. This is an extreme example, but what if you booked "action" on the Giants -170 tonight, and two hours before gametime find out that Randy Johnson is now pitching for the DBacks. There would a major swing in the line, and your -170 probably looks very shitty compared to the +125 or so that would be on the board now.

Overall I just feel that if you cap a game with two certain pitchers, and one of them does not go, 70%-80% of the capping you did can now be thrown out the window. Even if the line remains the same, you've gone from a play that you obviously felt good about to one that is a coin flip.
