Remarkably, I am still showing a profit on the year. I'm gonna try to add to the total (or complete the first half demise) by spreadind some action around today:
LOS ANGELES DODGERS (+121) Maybe I'm going to the well one too many times here, but Jose Lima has made me some cash this year, and ya just gotta like this loose cannon. He's never faced the Astros, so I'm hoping that's a good thing, and Houston has moved Oswalt up to start today. This could be dangerous in that the Astros are a desperate team right now, but I'm going with the team playing better ball.
OAKLAND ATHLETICS (+102) Cliff Lee has been remarkable at home, but this is one of those prices that I just couldn't pass up.....Barry Zito needs to get his shite together, and I couldn't think of a better place for him to do it....He is 2-0 in his career versus Cleveland, and he has only given up 2 ER to them in 23.2 IP.
ATLANTA BRAVES (+103) You never know what you're going to get with my good buddy Rusty on the hill, but he has won three straight decisions, and I am going to back the Braves in this spot, who have won 14 of their last 18 games. Wolf is only 4-7 in his career versus Atlanta, and I'm not totally convinced he's ready to roll in his third start off the shelf.
REDS / BREWERS under 8.5 (+107) With the exception of the nine runs they put up on Thursday night here, the Reds have been struggling to put runs on the board lately. Then there's the Brewers line-up, who wouldn't exactly make any pitcher's knees knock and I like a low scoring affair in the one. I also like the fact that both starting pitchers today have had success against their oppositon (Acevedo is 4-1 with a 3.86 ERA versus the Reds, and while Santos has only pitched 7+ innings against Cincy, he's only given up 1 ER while walking 5 and striking out 12).
What in hell am I going to do with myself for the next three days this week???
Have a good one fellas,
Sharky
