The CFN Preseason Top 25

USC comes into the 2004 season with the nation's best team, but Oklahoma isn't far behind. The Trojans have everything from QB Matt Leinart on offense to DL Shaun Cody on defense to punter Tom Malone leading the outstanding special teams.

1. USC (projected record: 12-0) USC Preview | Off | Def | Trojan Inside Scoop
The Trojans don't have any major weakness getting even stronger with the maturity of the young running backs, like Reggie Bush, and with the nation's top recruiting class. The receiving corps is still loaded with or without Mike Williams; if he returns there won't be any stopping the offense. With as breezy a schedule as a top team can have, the Trojans won't face a team that, on paper, can come within 21 points of them.
Relative strength: Offensive backfield Relative Weakness: Receiver experience
Star of the team: Junior QB Matt Leinart Key game: October 30th at Washington State

2. Oklahoma (projected record: 12-0)
Oklahoma Preview | Off | Def | Sooner Inside Scoop
As hard as it may seem to fathom, the offense should be better than ever with ten starters back from the juggernaut that averaged 42.9 points per game. The running game will be even better with star recruit Adrian Peterson joining the mix, while the passing attack is injury-proof with three great backups behind Heisman winning quarterback Jason White and too many talented receivers to use. The defense might be without major award winners Tommie Harris, Teddy Lehman and Derrick Strait, but this is Oklahoma; reloading isn't a problem.
Relative strength: Wide receiver
Relative Weakness: Linebacker
Star of the team: Senior WR Mark Clayton
Key game: Oct. 9 vs. Texas

3. Michigan (projected record: 10-1) Michigan Preview | Off | Def | UM Inside Scoop
Most take a passing glance at the 2004 Wolverines and notice there's no Chris Perry, no John Navarre and most of the defensive line needs to be replaced. Upon closer inspection, there are several good, experienced players ready to step in and fill the holes. The defensive line looks to be as good as ever with the emergence of junior tackles Larry Harrison and Gabe Watson along with star-in-the-making pass rusher LaMarr Woodley. The running-back-by-committee approach will work just well enough to take the heat off the passing game, and either Matt Gutierrez or Clayton Richard will walk into a dream situation for a quarterback with the best receiving corps in America to throw to and a nasty line to provide the time.
Relative strength: Wide receiver Relative Weakness: Offensive backfield experience
Star of the team: Senior WR Braylon Edwards Key game: Nov. 20 at Ohio State

4. Texas (projected record: 10-1)
Texas Preview | Off | Def | Longhorn Inside Scoop
A loss to Oklahoma would make this another disappointing season no matter what else happens. There's no one else on the schedule that, theoretically, can come within two touchdowns of the Longhorns with the best lines Mack Brown has had yet and superstars like RB Cedric Benson and LB Derrick Johnson. If Texas can focus on each step and play up to its capability week-in-and-week-out, this is a one game season. The pressure is always there in Austin, so there's no reason to expect anything less than a national title run from a program due for a few big breaks.
Relative strength: Running back
Relative Weakness: Wide Receiver
Star of the team: Senior RB Cedric Benson
Key game: Oct. 9 vs. Oklahoma

5. Georgia (projected record: 10-1)
Georgia Preview | Off | Def | Dawg Inside Scoop
The Dawgs are due to take the next step and get to the national title game. Enough experience returns on both sides of the ball to be ranked among the top three in the nation if the offense is more consistent. The schedule is always scary in the SEC, but great teams can get through a slate like this. The bar is set high now, and this could be the Georgia team that leaps over it on its way to Miami in early January.
Relative strength: Defensive line Relative Weakness: Running backs
Star of the team: Senior DE David Pollack Key game: Oct. 30 vs. Florida

6. LSU (projected record: 9-2)
LSU Preview | Off | Def | Tiger Inside Scoop
This team has warp speed everywhere. The Tigers will try and repeat as national champions with the athleticism and talent to beat anyone in the country and the attitude that it can win every game. It won't be easy with several key personnel losses and a brutal SEC schedule to go along with the bull's-eye that a national title brings. No matter what happens, this program should be here to stay among the elite
Relative strength: Secondary Relative Weakness: Quarterback
Star of the team: Senior CB Corey Webster Key game: September 18 at Auburn

7. Florida State (projected record: 9-2) Florida State Preview | Off | Def | Nole Inside Scoop
No longer can the Noles simply blow teams away with their athleticism as there are too many good players spread out in the ACC and Miami will always be at least FSU's talent equal. Even so, they'll win more than their share of league titles over the next several years, and should be the favorites this season, with almost all the key parts returning to a very good offense and more talented prospects taking over for the lost stars on defense.
Relative strength: Offensive firepower Relative Weakness: Defensive line experience
Star of the team: Senior OT Alex Barron Key game: September 6th at Miami

8. Miami (projected record: 9-2) Miami Preview | Off | Def | Hurricane Inside Scoop
Yeah, Miami lost a ton of NFL talent from the defense and still needs work on offense, but there are still few teams in America that can match the all-around talent and athleticism. The clich? applies here; Miami has reloaded. The defense will still dominate despite losing an Pro Bowl's worth of players led by a dominant front line and CB Antrel Rolle in the secondary. However, there has to be better all-around play from the quarterbacks.
Relative strength: Defensive line Relative Weakness: Defensive back seven experience
Star of the team: Senior CB Antrel Rolle Key game: September 6th vs. Florida State

9. North Carolina State (projected record: 9-2) NC State Preview | Off | Def | State Inside Scoop
This is the best team Chuck Amato has ever had with as much depth and overall talent as anyone in the country. The offensive line is loaded with five All-ACC caliber players, RB T.A. McLendon returns to the backfield, and nine starters return on a defense that should be much better this year after looking tremendous all spring. This is an ACC-title caliber team that needs to find someone to replace The Franchise, Philip Rivers. If Jay Davis and/or Marcus Stone becomes better than average at quarterback, look out for the Wolfpack
Relative strength: Running backs Relative Weakness: Quarterback experience
Star of the team: Senior S Andre Maddox Key game: Oct. 30 at Clemson

10. Virginia (projected record: 9-2) Virginia Preview | Off | Def | Cav Inside Scoop
The defense boasts a linebacking corps that ranks among the best in the nation. With players like Ahmad Brooks, Darryl Blackstock and Kai Parham forming the nucleus of a devastating young D, and DE Chris Canty leading a great unsung line, many other issues, like the young secondary and the potential inconsistency on offense, can be forgotten about for a while. But for the Cavaliers to take a step up, quarterback Marques Hagans has to shine. He might not be Matt Schaub, but his running ability and knowledge of the offense are strong enough to add a new dimension to the attack..
Relative strength: Linebacker Relative Weakness: Wide receiver
Star of the team: Junior TE Heath Miller Key game: Nov. 6 vs. Maryland

11. Auburn (projected record: 8-3) Auburn Preview | Off | Def | Tiger Inside Scoop
This is an unsung Tiger team compared to last year's preseason darling with almost all of the key pieces returning to a rehabbed offense and one of the best secondaries in the SEC. There are holes and concerns needing major replacements in the linebacking corps. QB Jason Campbell and the receiving corps has to be more explosive.
Relative strength: Running backs Relative Weakness: Special teams
Star of the team: Senior RB Carnell Williams Key game: Sept. 18 vs. LSU

12. West Virginia (projected record: 8-3) West Va Preview | Off | Def | WVU Inside Scoop
The defense has a few issues to get over needing to tighten up in the secondary and hoping for more of a pass rush, but the veterans are there to make that happen. The offense is scary good with Kay-Jay Harris and Jason Colson ready to keep the Mountaineer ground attack rolling running behind a veteran offensive line. There are two veteran quarterbacks getting premier deep threat Chris Henry to throw to. So get the expectations up there; this team is good enough to live up to them.
Relative strength: Offensive skill players Relative Weakness: Special teams
Star of the team: Junior WR Chris Henry Key game: Nov. 25 at Pittsburgh

13. Oklahoma State (projected record: 7-4) Oklahoma St Preview | Off | Def | OSU Inside Scoop
Starting quarterback Josh Fields left to play for the Chicago White Sox and star-recruit Bobby Reid got hurt. That's O.K., 2002 superstar recruit Donovan Woods looks ready to step in adding more pizzazz than Fields ever did. The rest of the team is more experienced, deeper and better than ever with the best offensive line the Cowboys have had in years and a defensive back seven that should be the envy of every Big XII team outside of Norman and Austin.
Relative strength: Offensive line Relative Weakness: Quarterback depth
Star of the team: Senior CB Darrent Williams Key game: Oct. 23 at Missouri

14. Ohio State (projected record: 9-2) Ohio State Preview | Off | Def | OSU Inside Scoop
The Buckeyes will rely on one of the best linebacking corps in the country, a good secondary and a decent backfield. There are too many glaring question marks to hope for a second national title in three seasons, but there's no reason not to expect a good run in the BCS race. If the coaching staff could get through last year and keep the ship on course, a few lost players won't going to be hard to get over.
Relative strength: Linebacker Relative Weakness: Quarterback experience
Star of the team: Junior LB A.J. Hawk Key game: October 16 at Iowa

15. Kansas State (projected record: 8-3) Kansas St Preview | Off | Def | KSU Inside Scoop
This isn't the juggernaut that it was last year, but there's no reason to think the Wildcats can't win the Big XII North again. Assuming Texas A&M isn't back to form yet, the Wildcats, even in their rebuilding mode, should 5-0 without a sweat before getting Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas Tech at home. Pivotal Big XII North road games at Missouri and Colorado came late enough to have most of the kinks worked out.
Relative strength: Running backs Relative Weakness: Wide receiver
Star of the team: Senior RB Darren Sproles Key game: Nov. 13 at Colorado

16. Tennessee (projected record: 10-1) Tennessee Preview | Off | Def | Vol Inside Scoop
Call Tennessee the SEC wild-card. There's as much experience, and as much athleticism and talent, as anyone in the conference and anyone in the country. Now is the time for all the potential and all the great recruits of a few years ago to finally play up to the hype. Considering the Vols are in the SEC East, the schedule isn't all that bad.
Relative strength: Linebackers Relative Weakness: Wide receiver
Star of the team: Junior LB Kevin Simon Key game: Oct. 9 at Georgia

17. Missouri (projected record: 9-2) Missouri Preview | Off | Def | Tiger Inside Scoop
Everything is there for a Big XII North title run with as much overall speed and athleticism as anyone in the league outside of Oklahoma and Texas, a dangerous offense with great prospects at receiver and running back, a defensive line loaded with All-Big XII prospects, and a Heisman caliber quarterback in Brad Smith to make it all come together.
Relative strength: Quarterback Relative Weakness: Special teams
Star of the team: Junior QB Brad Smith Key game: Nov. 6 vs. Kansas State

18. Louisville (projected record: 9-2) Louisville Preview | Off | Def | UL Inside Scoop
There are few weaknesses with one of the most loaded teams Conference USA has ever seen. Injuries can't be an excuse as there's depth to burn. So what does it all mean? It's Conference USA title or bust for a program that hasn't done too well with lofty expectations in the past. This time, the team is there to live up to the hype.
Relative strength: Running back Relative Weakness: Linebacker
Star of the team: Senior WR J.R. Russell Key game: Nov. 11 vs. TCU

19. Clemson (projected record: 6-5) Clemson Preview | Off | Def | Tiger Inside Scoop
Oh these are heady times in Clemson, but now the pressure is really on as the end of last year helped to jack up expectations once again. This is a good enough team to handle the hype, but Tommy Bowden and company have to prove that last year's great four-game winning streak to close things out wasn't just a momentum thing and that this is going to be a consistently good team.
Relative strength: Secondary Relative Weakness: Offensive line
Star of the team: Junior QB Charlie Whitehurst Key game: October 7th at Virginia

20. Maryland (projected record: 9-3) Maryland Preview | Off | Def | Terp Inside Scoop
In the new world of the ACC, talent is key to try and stay in the conference title hunt. As good as things have been, the Terps haven't come close to beating perennial ACC champion Florida State under Ralph Friedgen losing three times by a combined score of 124 to 51. The Terps have the players to hang tough with Noles as well as all the other top teams.
Relative strength: Special teams Relative Weakness: Defensive line
Star of the team: Senior OG C.J. Brooks Key game: Oct. 23 at Clemson

21. Wisconsin (projected record: 9-2) Wisconsin Preview | Off | Def | Badger Inside Scoop
The running game should be as good as ever with a healthy Anthony Davis running behind one of the nation's best offensive lines. Major replacements are needed at linebacker and quarterback, but there's talent ready to step in. There's no excuse for not being 5-0 before facing Ohio State and Purdue.
Relative strength: Running back Relative Weakness: Quarterback
Star of the team: Senior RB Anthony Davis Key game: Oct. 16 at Purdue

22. Ole Miss (projected record: 9-2) Ole Miss Preview | Off | Def | Rebel Inside Scoop
The kicking game should be among the best in the country, the offensive line is the best in the David Cutcliffe era, and the defense should be stronger with an experienced secondary and big line. The quarterbacks? There isn't an Eli Manning, but the Rebels will be fine as Micheal Spurlock knows the offense and has two tremendous prospects behind him.
Relative strength: Special teams Relative Weakness: Running backs
Star of the team: Senior FS Eric Oliver Key game: October 16th vs. Tennessee

23. Iowa (projected record: 8-3) Iowa Preview | Off | Def | Hawkeye Inside Scoop
The 2004 Hawkeyes have the potential to be Kirk Ferentz's most talented team yet, but it will take a while to come together with only two starters returning to the offense and little overall depth on defense. This is one of the fastest and most athletic teams Iowa has had in a long time with enough great players on defense to carry things until the offense comes around
Relative strength: Linebacker Relative Weakness: Wide receiver
Star of the team: Junior LB Abdul Hodge Key game: Nov. 13 at Minnesota

24. Oregon (projected record: 7-4) preview coming Monday
The Ducks have no excuse for not having a big year missing USC and getting a cupcake non-conference schedule (outside of the Oklahoma game). Oregon shouldn't shoot for anything less than a 6-2, or 7-1 start. Fortunately, there isn't an extended road swing and the middle of the slate is nice and cushy. This isn't a good enough team to win the Pac 10 title, but it's more than good enough to come close.
Relative strength: Defensive line Relative Weakness: Secondary
Star of the team: Junior WR Demetrius Williams Key game: Oct. 30 vs. Washington

25. Georgia Tech (projected record: 6-5) Georgia Tech Preview | Off | Def | GT Inside Scoop
There are some next-level talents like safety James Butler and defensive end Eric Henderson to go along with some very good college players like running back P.J. Daniels and quarterback Reggie Ball. These stars have to lead to more consistent play. The talent is there for a big season, but it won't be easy with a brutal schedule.
Relative strength: Secondary Relative Weakness: Wide receiver
Star of the team: Senior FS James Butler Key game: Sept. 11 at Clemson

Yes, this is the same outfit that predicted CAL to have 2 wins last year or maybe it was even 1 win. They were obviously dead wrong on that prediction. I find it hilarious you think this pre-season top 25 is worthless since it came from CFN. You know, the same site where you have been posting the team previews from. Why on earth have you been posting team previews from a site you think provides a worthless pre-season top 25? I found their top 25 pre-season rankings interesting, especially with the little parapragh underneath each team. If you disagree with their top 25, you can at least see their reasoning behind their selections. I do not think you can call anybody's pre-season predictions worthless if they provide logical reasonings supporting their prediction.

Not sure how they dub usc having the top recruiting class. . . (I don't put much stock into recruiting classes - who knows how these kids will make the transition from h.s. to college.) I'm definitely not tooting my own homer horn saying this, but when you get the number one high school quaterback - Rhett Bohmar, and the number one high school running back - Adrian Peterson - among other top recruits in this class - it's hard not to say that OU had the best recruiting class. I thought that was obvious. That's what leads me not to put too much strength in their validity. Again - I don't really put much weight in either recruiting classes or pre-season polls. Just something to read about in the off season.

Sorry, but you are COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!!!! USC without a doubt, had the #1 recruiting class last year, and prob. the best recruiting class EVER! PERIOD!

Every recruiting service had USC #1.

USC accomplished something that has never been done before and that was recruiting 8 5-star recruits. YES, USC signed 8 5-star players. NEVER HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE!!!!!! OU signed 3 5-star recruits, and that is very impressive. But USC signed 8!!!!!!!

"Rivals.com is proud to crown USC as the recruiting national champion for the Class of 2004. The Trojans did something that had not been done in Rivals.com history by landing eight five-star prospects.

The previous high was Texas and Tennessee, which both signed six five-star players in the class of 2002. That alone is impressive, but it?s more impressive when you look at a few other factors.

First, there are fewer five-star players in the Class of 2004. This year there was a total of 34 high school and junior college prospects who received five-star rankings. In the class of 2002, there were more than 50 players who earned five-star rankings from the high school and junior college ranks.

What?s also scary is that USC out-distanced its opponents by a margin of five more five-star prospects. LSU and Oklahoma signed three five-star recruits. There is little doubt that USC fans were excited about their efforts, but not as excited as Trojan head coach Pete Carroll."

Rivals 2004 Recruiting Class Rankings

2004 Recruiting Rankings "Insiders"

ESPN- Trojans Claim 2004 Recruiting Title

This would make back to back #1 recruiting classes for USC. 2 years ago USC after signing day had the #1, #2 or #3 recruiting class depending on what service you looked at. (FL, LSU, and USC all basically tied for #1) However, 1-2 weeks after signing day, USC signed SUPER STUD QB BOOTY who was a 5 star recruit. He left after his junior year in high school and he was rated the #1 QB in the nation by many despite only being a junior. He without question put USC recruiting class over the top and USC claimed the #1 recruiting class of that year.

What do these recruiting rankings mean? Nothing. It is just fun to look at. What is important is how your coaching staff judges and develops talent to fit their system. Although any coach in the country would give a scholly to a 5 star recruit!!!!!!!

All in all, I don't think USC will be going away anytime soon! Especially with this coaching staff.

trump tight OU had a very good recruiting class. That RB Peterson is going to be a STUD!!!

I can't wait for USC to come in and lose to one of the perennially weak Pac-10 schools - (which Pac-10 school really isn't perennially weak, really?) and then we won't have to hear this guy's crap anymore

LSU Tigers - defending national champs

what about this quote:

"It won't be easy with several key personnel losses and a brutal SEC schedule"

Don't think we'll hear anything about the "brutal Pac-10 schedule"

this guy is a joke

Should we talk about conference rankings again?

Should we talk about conference rankings again?

The big 12 has 5 teams in the top 17 while the Pac-10 has two in the top 25.

Not to mention that Oklahoma will pound Oregon in September.

Sounds like you could have had the 111th best recruiting class and still made it through this creampuff slate.

I obviously do not put as much weight on "rankings" as you do. I judge the strength/quality of teams on my own. I do not just look at wins/losses, but I also look at home/away games and OOC opponents. I look at how the teams collected their wins. For example, if a team plays 3 weak OOC opponents and also beats 3 worst teams in the conference, and beats 3 average teams in the conference, they have 9 wins right there. They will be ranked in the top 25 and prob. top 15, but I would not be impressed. We all know how the Big 12 and SEC conferences get so many teams ranked in the top 25. They don't cheat, they just have a different style and way of doing things. SO I do not think we need to talk about conference rankings again because you prob. would not be able to put up much of an argument again.

Last year, Big 12 was the 5th strongest conference. Top 2 teams in the Big 12 lost their bowl games. I was not impressed at all with the Big 12 last year. Especially with the lack of defense played in that conference and the consistent bottom dwellers.

OU should beat Oregon, it is at Norman. I dunno if Oregon will get pounded, but OU should win that game. Too bad OU did not want to play USC this year. Both USC and OU had 2 open dates this year and OU declined to play USC.

can we please get this pac10 and usc crap out of this HANDICAPPING site; everyone is so sick of it; lucas will never learn; also be careful about Missouri over 8 wins; they are replacing 3 offensive lineman and lets not forget Brad Smith has only won 2 games against teams that have gone to bowl games in the last 2 years so MAYBE he is not as spectacular as everyone thinks although he is a great player.

I usually ignore you because you are obsessed over me but this post of yours was quite funny. You single out ME about talking about USC and Pac 10. :nono:

YOU SAID......

Madjack

can we please get this pac10 and usc crap out of this HANDICAPPING site; everyone is so sick of it; lucas will never learn;

I guess you have big problem with LA Burns because he talked about LSU, USC, PAc 10 and SEC. I guess you have big problem with Bob Stoops because he talked about BIG 12 and PAC 10. I guess you have a big problem with Avalanche because he talked about USC and their recruiting class and weak schedule. I guess you have a big problem with Markk because he talked about USC and WSU. I guess you have a big problem with trump tight because he talked about OU having a better recruiting class than USC. Why did you leave all their names out? :142lmao:

All those posters posted ON THEIR OWN about either USC or the Pac 10 without replying to me. THEY POSTED ABOUT USC AND PAC 10 ON THEIR OWN!!!!!!!! My first post in this thread was about the CFN TOP 25. Not about USC or the Pac 10. You couldn't figure this out?

Go ahead BBK, single me out and cry to Madjack. It is ok for others to talk about USC and the Pac 10 and bad mouth them etc.. But single out me for "replying" to those posters "original" posts. You are quite amusing in a sad sort of way and I hope Madjack reads this thread. I HOPE HE DOES so he can see the intelligence level of the people complaining about me. Keep on sending Madjack your complaints about me and I hope he sends them right to the trash can.

Very mature of you BBK to call me "Lucas" when my name clearly is Scott. Lets put 2 and 2 together. My screen name is Scott4USC so I think my name is Scott. Where you get Lucas I dunno and don't care. Keep displaying your lack of maturity and continue calling me Lucas.

WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!!! You are acting like BBK now. You tell me to not talk about recruiting classes, but it was ok for TRUMP TIGHT to talk about it. REMEMBER, Trump Tight was the one WHO BROUGHT UP the recruiting classes. I simply corrected him. He thought OU had the #1 recruiting class and he was implying that CFN should lose credibility for saying USC had the #1 class. I am defending CFN and USC. So what is your problem? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

My original post here was about the CFN top 25 NOT recruiting classes. Trump Tight brought it up. You posters are hilarious. :142lmao:

Texas does not have the coaching staff as USC. USC coaching staff has proven they can max. their players talents. Need examples? Palmers (heisman trophy) Leinart last year first year starting put Heisman type numbers. Need I say more? USC is not TEXAS and recruiting is VERY IMPORTANT in college football. Ok, enough about recruiting because this thread was about CFN's top 25.

WAIT A SECOND SCOTT4USC, YOU ARE ACTING LIKE SCOTT4USC NOW.....

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you are defending USC. When do you not defend USC? Never. USC is this... USC is that... USC USC USC USC yawn....

Pac 10 Pac 10 Pac 10 Big 12 sucks, we know they're overrated... jeez..... SEC sucks... USC has the #1 college football recruiting class in the history of the universe and beyond the universe. USC is the best program in the history of college football.

----------------

When are you going to realize your track record has you doomed until the rest of time? You are never going to catch a break and who cares if other people here post "off topic" they dont do it nearly as much as you and they're not nearly as confrontational (or irrational) as you are when they do it. You post off-topic rah rah USC crap at every single turn and you bash other people who do not agree (which is the whole universe). Get a life and go fall off of a cliff, i am sick of your posts. can you just please just sit there and lurk with your pete carroll pacifier? thanks

This is a college football forum so please do not do me the honor and talk about me. You have a huge problem with me, yet you keep talking to me. I made NO REFERENCE TO YOU IN THIS THREAD, but you still post about me. I do not talk about YOU but you talk about me. You are the one who made the wise crack against USC, NOT ME! I posted CFN's TOP 25 in this thread. PLEASE show me in this thread where I did something wrong? PLEASE SHOW ME? You and BBK are one of a kind and I hope Madjack reads this thread.

If someone posts USC did not have the #1 recruiting class last year, is it off topic to reply and say USC did and why. I even provided links. You got a problem with that?

You say I bash people who do not agree with me? That is wrong. First of all, I attack the post and not the person. I do not dedicate a thread attacking a poster personally. I "bash" people who make stupid posts and arguments. I bash people who post OFF TOPIC! Mansa on another thread disagreed with me about my Tenn. over 8 wins bet and I did not bash him. Scott and War Eagle disagreed with me when I did not think Memphis was a strong team and they clearly were right and I was wrong. I did not bash them and I admitted I was wrong. I can give a lot more examples.

Avalanche this thread was about CFN's top 25. So please do not talk about SCOTT4USC and talk about CFN's top 25. If I reply to another posters comment about USC or the Pac 10, that is not ME being off topic.

Why are you quoting me on things i never said or even implied?

I never said Big 12 sucks. I never said SEC sucks. I even said SEC was the 2nd strongest conference last year behind the ACC. I never said "USC is the best program in the history of college football." I think ND is the #1 program in the history of college football. USC is top 5.

YOU SAID.........
Get a life and go fall off of a cliff

Thanks for wishing me to die. :(

This thread should not be titled CFN Pre-Season Top 25, rather the thread title should be USC
can not do anything wrong. It sounds like USC should be the model school for any program. Or how the PAC-10 is the model conf. I am a huge PAC-10 backer, having played football in the damn conference. But this thread has taken on a whole new meaning about a Pre-Season Top 25. Honestly, this crap has got to end. I really thought we were headed for better CFB talk and not this horsecrap. I will check back on this forum in August with my fingers crossed that none of this Pro-USC and Pro-Pac10 crap dominates each and every thread. If it is status quo come August, I will not be back as many others won't be either.
