Thurs 1-0 (+1.00) :)

Well guys, that worked so well last night, I'm gonna try it again.......

OAKLAND ATHLETICS (-111) Like I stated in yesterday's thread, I think the A's are ready to roll. I also get the impression that Zito is looking at this second half of the year as a new start, and expect to see some good things from him. (He even showed signs of improvement in his last outing at Jacobs Field, but just didn't get any run support.) You could make a real good case for Mark Buehrle (3-0 on the road this year; 2-0 with a 1.96 ERA in his L3 starts; he even has a career ERA of 3.45 against the A's). However, here comes my favourite part: Buehrle's career record against Oakland is only 2-5, which is probably directly related to the fact that CHICAGO HAS STILL ONLY WON ONE GAME IN THE LAST 3 YEARS OF TRAVELLING TO OAKLAND!! To take it even a bit further I believe the White Sox are now 7-38 in their last 45 games played in Anaheim, Oakland or Seattle. :look: I'm leaning towards this trend continuing.

I'm also leaning towards the Indians, but waiting to clarify the pitching match-up, and I've been looking at the Mets again as well, but can't get a line just yet, and that one may be too close to call anyway.

Anyway Fellas, all I have to do is get through Friday and I'm on vacation for the next week!! :spotting:
Just hanging around the house, playing some golf, drinking some beer :drinky: and with any luck, making some cash. ;)

Happy Friday,

Sharky

Hey Sharky, I am glad when we are on the same page of music. I think there is nice value here with Oakland at -110. Oakland has been one of the best home teams in baseball over the years. Zito's inconsistent pitching worries me, but the White Sox bats aren't really tearing things up right now. If the line was higher, then I would have this as a no play, but we have value here. I am also looking at Cleveland, but I hate to bet my money on a team like Cleveland on the road, where you don't know if they will show up or not. Taking a shot with TB in the early game. Like them coming off of a loss hopefully making them a little hungry. Look for Baltimore's bullpen to give this game away. Good luck.

Thanks a lot guys. :toast:

Okay.....couple hours to vacation, my mind is wandering and I'm wound up tighter than a 10 cent wrist watch.

CLEVELAND INDIANS (+110) The last thing I did last night before I hit the hay was play Cliff Lee vs. "action" on the Mariner side. It was Moyer listed, and I didn't mind betting against him the way he had been pitching lately, but ESPN and CBS had Blackley listed. It looks like Blackley is going to go now, and the line has made a substantial change. Hopefully this works out for me.....Although the Indians are much better at home, there are a few things I like here:

- Cliff Lee is 9-1 on the year, 3-1 on the road, and the Indians are 13-5 in games he starts
- Seattle consistently struggles every night to put runs on the board, and not seeing the up and coming Cliff Lee before should not help this situation

Go Injuns.

Gl Sharky!! I just can't believe how HORRIBLE the Sox are at Oakland...I mean any given person could read that stat and make money. This formula I've been putting out has the Sox in this series which I have no idea why......3-0 A's after one inning already. The bleeding keeps gushing for the Sox here in Oakland. Hope you nail this play...........
