YTD: 75-63-4 +12.47 units

Booked one early --- TampaBay/O's under 9 -111...these bats were cold yesterday, and I look for runs to be rare tonight as well. High total for the fact that both starters have era's in the 3's (Brazelton 3.20, Lopez 3.89) and especially high considering Brazelton's era is under 1 at home! (2-0 0.74) If both of these guys show up to pitch today we should go way under, and even if they don't play to their numbers we have a bit of a cushion with the total set at 9.

I'll be back with more plays later -- good luck all.

San Diego/Houston under 8 +108.....Wells vs Oswalt -- two guys with pretty consistent era's regardless of the situation. Well's era is 3.44 last three and holds a 2.43 era on the road, while Oswalt holds a 3.39 home era and 3.80 last three. The Astros couldn't get a clutch hit to save their lives last night, and need a big performance out of Roy today. He shut down the Padres on July 7th (7.33 innings pitched, 6 hits, 1 run) and I don't see why he can't do the same again. Wells is Wells, and I feel confident banking on him giving up a run or two both not much more. He doesn't give any free passes and will make then earn every run they get.

5ft, pin high......
Was just looking at that. DB has slipped a bit since his run at a no-no, but I see it the same way. Might even give the hook back to +111. Like Boomer too! GL

Cleveland -120...I think that Seattle is going to have a lot of trouble getting to C.C. and the Indian bats are hot. M's are 9-16 this year vs left handers and Sabathia is one of the better ones out there, especially on the road (3-1 1.73). Franklin has lost his last four (era over 9 in those starts), and tonight should be number five.

Yes, I saw it -- amazing. And you were right, Ulrich made a tactical mistake in my opinion yesterday, and I think it will cost him the tour now.

I just read that Tyler Hamilton has left the tour because his dog died....

Two more:

ChiSox -116....mostly a play against Redman, whose era is over 11 in his last three. I love that Garcia is 4-0 2.78 during day games this year, compared to Redman's 2-3 5.25 stats. The White Sox brought in Garcia to take care of business in situations like this, and I think he gets it done. Solid price for the far superior pitcher in my opinion.

St Louis/Cincy under 9.5 -110....Marquis is 6-0, 3.57 in his last seven starts; Lidle is 2-0, 0.00 in his last two home starts. Marquis' era is 2.91 on the road and 3.40 during the day. Just playing the numbers here.

Good luck to all and enjoy the weekend.

I think maybe people should start to questions about whether Ullrich needed drugs to perform, he looks nowhere near like he has in the past. Basso will win the tour within 2-3 years count on it. I have never seen a tour where the pretenders where dismantled after 2 days of climbing. Team postal has set a grueling pace that non can adhere too. Simply amazing. Super Tex didn't get the yellow today, but this tour is over, Armstrong is in a class of his own, truly the most exceptional athlete on the planet.

Sorry to post in your bases thread but GL TODAY!!!

:topic: Quick question for you B.....I know you're a Mets fan and go to Shea a bit, so I was hoping you could help me with something that has been bothering me.....WHAT IN HELL IS UP WITH THE GRASS THERE?? Is the head groundskeeper on acid or what? I watched a lot of the game on WPIX last night and the field was making me nauseous. kurby

I didn't see the game last night -- what's up? Did they cut the outfield into a weird line pattern again? They are all about getting that NY in the outfield lately, but if they don't keep up with it - it looks crappy.

Unrelated tidbit about Shea if you haven't been there --- the blue you see on tv in the stadium doesn't look like that when you are there, it's a weird purplish blue that looks better on tv. Could be an urban legend I guess, but when I'm there live it definetly looks different to me than it does on tv. Another thing about Shea -- probably least comfortable seats in MLB.

It's probably not as bad as I'm making it seem, but I felt like I was in Star Wars or something they way they had it striped.
I was on a school trip to NYC in my last year of high school ('94) and we went to a Sat. afternoon game at Shea vs. the Dodgers. Don't really remember the coloring, but I know what you mean about the seating.

I'll check it out today --- knowing Freddy Coupon he probably got rid of the crew chief and replaced him with some high school kids' local landscaping business (very loose term there) to cut costs.
