I like the chalk tonight:
Angels/M's over 8.5 -110....Moyer has been struggling, 0-5 6.91 in his last seven starts, and the Angels hit lefties well (16-12). Lackey's era is over 6 on the road, and is over 4 in his last three. Total is pretty low, which I think is because Lackey's starts have gone under 7 of the last 8. Tonight I think that the linesmaker overadjusted the line based on that history.
BoSox -167.....I haven't layed chalk like this in a long time, but I have a lot of confidence in Schilling tonight. He came to Boston for games like tonight, big spots vs the Yanks. Red Sox are 11-0 in Schillings home games this year, and Lieber is struggling on the road. Giambi WILL play tonight, according to Torre on the radio about five minutes ago, but Jeter is out (personally I think I'd rather see Giambi in the lineup than Tony Clark based on Giambi's production as of late.) This game is much bigger for Boston than it is for NY in my opinion.
DRays/BJays under 9 -110...Hendrickson had probably his best start of the year last time out, and the Blue Jays looked like they didn't know what they were doing with the stick yesterday against the Yanks. Batista shut down the DRays last time he faced them, shutting them out over 7 innings of work. The Blue Jay bats did get to Hendrickson in that game, but based on how he looked last time out and how poor the Blue Jay offense looked yesterday I like my chances, especially since Hendrickson's era is better on the road than at home.
Rockies -115....all you need to know: Rockies are 14-9 vs lefties, DBacks are 6-26 vs southpaws. Both pitchers stink, but only one of the teams is going to be able to hit the meatballs. This play is automatic.
Best of luck to all -- hope you have a good night.
