I'm going to go ahead and post this because one of the first things I do after I up-date my records is check out Factsman. He's one hell of a capper and I've been following him since he started here at Jacks.

Here's the reason for the post. Someone mentioned that the ump is Bill Hohn and he is a over ump with a record of 12-5 over. His real record is 12-6-1 over but that's not the point. When you are using the info for totals supplied by most internet sites you are playing with only half a deck. That's better than no deck at all but sometimes can be very mis-leading. Here's the rest of the story on Bill Hohn this year.

Another yardstick I use is 16-3-1 calling for the under. 10 of the 12 overs he hit this year fell also in this group. The unders 5-1. There's another thing that comes up no more than once a month. It is 3-0 calling for the under tonight.

This probably sounds to you like I'm predicting the under for this game but I'm not. Everything Factsman pointed out and some things he didn't call for the over. What I'm saying is I very seldom play anything I don't look at myself. All I'm doing is giving you some good reasons why I'm going to pass and pull like hell for Factsman to hit his total.

I come up with the under as a strong play tonight. That doesn't mean alot lately for me though. But this line is now at 10' and the yanks haven't been tearing up lefties lately either. Lilly and el duque have both pitched solidly lately. I will play under before the over especially with the above numbers posted.

Too much help ain't good. I've tried to narrow it down a bit.

Phil and over, Cinn under, Mil and over, NYY, Oak, Pitt, and SD.

gsp, i appreciate all the fine work you put in on umpire analysis. as you are aware, i do some of the same but along different parameters. i thought i would post up this umpire site that you may also be aware of:

http://www.letitridesports.com/sbw/mlb/umpires/index.html

i hope jack and ie don't mind, as it is part of a commercial website, but it does give a lot of info that isn't available anywhere else to my knowledge, including breakdowns by league, by r/l pitching, ba's, k/gm, bb/gm and other info. this page gives the day's umpires, but usually it comes up a little late. i get the umps off of mlb.com, then go to this site, click on the upper right where it says "view all umpires", and then click on the name of the individual umpire in the left hand margin.

loophole, thanks for the heads up but I've been aware of this site all year. They bought out a site I used last year. They have some info that Covers don't and visa versa. The thing I like about this site is they give the umps complete schedule where Covers only shows the last 10.
