Boy, was I way off on that game in San Francisco last night. Did someone forget to tell Matt Morris it was his turn to pitch??
It's been a struggle for a while now, but I feel like I am real close to a good day. So, I am not going to be shy and play the games I like today:
BOSTON RED SOX (-101) I hope this isn't a trap, because I just took the bait. Boston is the better team, and Pedro is the better pitcher. I am willing to dismiss his last couple of starts, because for whatever reason, the Orioles seem to like what he's serving.......Looking for Pedro to get back on track.
CINCINNATI REDS (+144) Okay, I am a little concerned that we all like the Reds today, but Oswalt beat up on the Diamondbacks in his last couple of starts, and Wilson is an absolute horse at home (5-1, 2.63). Two teams playing at about the same level.......Home dog it is.
LOS ANGELES DODGERS (+123) Boomer put it in my ear last start, so I hope he doesn't do it to me again.....He has pitched better away from PetCo this year, which seems a little strange, but he is only 2-5 with 4.02 ERA at home this year. Doc mentioned the Dodgers lost a couple of good RH bats getting Brad Penny, which is an obvious concern, but I am betting Perez at this price.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (+125) I am quite sure this play isn't going to come as a surprise to anyone, but I like the Blue Jays today.
Douglass had one bad inning in his first major league start last week, when he gave up a grand salami to Jorge Posada. Other than that went 4 very strong innings versus a powerful Yankee line up, striking out 8. I think he will be much more relaxed this start, and you can't confuse the Yankee line up with what he will be facing today. If he brings the same stuff he had last outing, he will give these Blue Jay bats a chance. Worth a shot.....
CLEVELAND INDIANS (-153) This might prove to be pretty stupid......Laying road chalk with a so-so team and struggling pitcher, but I can't remember the last time I was accused of being too bright. :look: Sabathia pitches much better away from the Jake (4-1, 2.02), and I think the Royals reached their series quoata for runs last night. Put your damn hat on straight and throw some strikes (we can talk about dropping 10 or 15 pounds at a later time)........
It's hot.....Heading off to the local harness track for some beers this afternoon. Tomorrow is a holiday in Ontario as well, so don't have to be back in the office until Tuesday morning. Life is good today.
Let's get us winners today Fellas,
Sharky
