Tigers suck lately, can't clutch hit, haven't done anything right in weeks. Pen is awful too.

Ledezma will go 5 innings, tops, about 80 pitches. Then you bring in Novoa, Levine, Yan etc (gas cans)

Redman is on fire, A's great at home.

I don't get it, should be -180 or more.

Am I way off here?

Oak is, I think, 9-1 in their last 10 home games versus lefties.

They have an incredible home field advantage, and have been awesome in the 2nd half for years, and catching fire of late.

They ave more than 6 runs a game at home versus lefties. Toss out a game they scored 14 (most) and one of their worst (3 runs), and take the median of what is left, and its 5/6, 5.5 and you've got two stats suggesting 5 or 6 runs for oak. I think redman will give up 3, maybe 4.

Oak wins 7-3 or 7-4 based on averages, which, of course, don't always predict.

But one thing I liked is that the 3 times they have scored just 3 runs versus lefties at home this year, all were against GOOD pitchers: moyer, Buehrle and Rogers. I don't put ledzema in that role.

I played:
OAk over 4.5 -120 X 1
Oak -1.5 +140 X.5
oak -150 X2
Oak over 8 -122 X 1

makes me wonder how he did so good in his previous 3 starts...seems like you were right about the line

i don't bet on my team..so the frustration lies within the loss itself

mack:

i think its a bit of a stretch to say that oakland has a ridiculous home field advantage. theres no denying they play well at home. but its not like theyre playing in front of packed houses and rabid fans. their attendance is lame, which always puzzled me. at very worst, they do play in a ballpark that is suited to their style of play.

By home field adv, I mean their record speaks for itself. I don't attempt to explain it. But at 37-15, it is the 2nd best record in the AL (yanks best) and 2nd best in baseball! Better than the cardinals.

So, 2nd best home record has to count for something. Not today, as i take it on the chin.
