hit my teaser last monday, so up +1*

i'm not big on laying points in the nfl especially during the pre-season , so my next play that i like will be:

2*wash.ml -161

this game marks the return of joe gibbs to the wash. stadium since 1992.you have to be crazy if you don't think that team & the fans won't be sky high for this game.i'm even sky high just typing this play.

in the hall of fame game i was impressed with hasselback's performance vs. denver & see him pushing ramsey for the # 2 qb position. so i think him & ramsey will play well in this game.

a few trends supporting this play:

teams playing their 2nd pre-season game vs. those playing their 1st game are 53-32 ats(62%)....including 42-18 ats (70%) if they are favored by less than 4 points.

add this to the fact that carolina beat wash. last year in pre-season 20-0 & 20-17 during the regular season & i see wash. wanting to get revenge in this game.

1*under 38(-130) n.o./jets

i played this game when the line came in at the beginning of the week. bought it up to 38 for comfort level but don't think it will be needed.

from what i have read n.o. is a banged up team.
their top qb, brooks is not going to play & their # 2 qb, bouman is also hurting with an abdominal strain. he is supposed to play the first quarter.n.o. 3rd string qb, sullivan will play 2nd & 3rd quarters & a rookie will play the 4th quarter.

n.o. wide receivers are also hurting with nathan black & derrick lewis not playing & cromwell cut.

the jets qb rotation is pennington playing 10-15 plays, bollinger playing 2nd & 3rd quarters & ricky ray playing the 4th quarter.

the jets are not too pleased so far with bollinger's play & the n.y.& n.j. papers are writing that they are looking for an experienced back-up.

on defense the jets are going with a new defense from last year, with mixing up a 4-3 front with a 3-4. they will also mix up their pass coverages with man to man & cover 2. they will also be blitzing from all different positions.

with everything that i read about both teams i don't see this game going over the number.

took the jets +3(bought half last night).....and now i understand that this is a northcoast 3*.....

this line has dropped like a rock...apparently,phil steele really does move the line...

i think the jets may surprise a lot of people if penningon stays healthy...whether that translates in pre-season,who knows....

wanted to take the guiants and that qb rotation...but i`m not sure how seriously coughlin takes the pre-season....

so far 2-0 this pre-season.

tonight i will play:

1*over 34(-130) pitt/det.

i understand that pitts.is hurting in the 2ndary with 3 of the 4 starters out because of injury.and detroit is also going to be missing some players on the defensive unit.

i read that pitts. last 4 pre-season road games (including their last 2x at Detroit) have all gone over the total.detroit has exceeded the posted total in 5 of their last 6 home pre-season games.

i already posted the wash. play for tonight. write-up listed above.

thanks for the well wishes toy & spider.

went 1-1 on the night but took a hit on the night because i played the money line on wash.

that was the last time i will play a large ml.

so far for the pre-season am 3-1 for -. 22 *

learned my lesson.

today i will play:

1*denver+1...played this early in the week

1* 7 point teaser of den +4 & under 41.5

although it lost last night, with wash.,still going to play the 2nd game vs. 1st game theory which has been hitting close to 65%.

based on past years it seems that shanahan is a firm believer in using the pre-season as a means of establishing a tone for the coming year as evidenced by his 12-3-1 straight up and ATS record over the previous four pre-seasons. losing to wash. makes him now 12-4-1 straight up and ATS in his last 17 pre-season contests.and during this time den. has not lost b2b games.

also shanahan has covered 5 of 6 games when the total is under 35.....& 17-8 ats in the pre-season with 6 days or less between games.

as far as the under is concerned.....

denver has played under in 10 of the last 13 pre-season games, & 0-6 under in true road games.

finally, teams that played in the hall of fame game are 4-10-1(including last nites wash. game) under their next game since 1997 & 1-7 under if that game was on the road.

so much about the advantages a team has with a game in hand as both wash. & denver lost this weekend.

tonight i will play :

2*under 38.5 (-130) gb/seattle

there are alot of injuries, especially at qb, with both teams so think we will see a lower scoring game between these two teams than we would normally see.

on the g.b.side....

after the few plays that favre will play, we will see couch relieve him. but we don't know how much couch will play because of a "tired arm" that has kept him from practicing this week. after couch gb will have life time back-up pederson & undrafted rookie qb mcbrien at qb. rb-green, te- franks, wr-ferguson & cb harris are listed as questionable.

on the seattle side....

4th string qb wallace will play most of the game, after starter hasselback plays for about the first quarter.2nd string qb- dilfer & 3rd string qb- huard are out.seattle will be without 2 starters on the off. line, as well as wr- robinson, & de-wistrom.

with all of these injuries i just don't see the type of scoring that some other people do.

we'll see.
