DO NOT click on that link above in Dr. Strange's post. As soon as I did my virus software went off..."Ultor's Trojan Horse" being sent from that site. If you go there, you better have virus software running.

That link should be taken down.

The whole problem with this current team is lack of outside shooting. The committee picked all flashy players, Guys like Casell, M. Redd, Kittles, Finley or Reggie would have been much better choices. Maybe they all said they didn't want to go also.

Sexlexia...
This is exactly the same scenario as the NBA final this year.

Public 'darling' (LA/USA) are percieved as unbeatable and play selfish 1-1 b-ball, while the underdogs (Det/the rest of the world!!) play good solid TEAM ball, strong defense and good ball movement.

Hard to believe people are still being surprised by it all.

Jawz, I hear you and no offense taken. I have always said I appreciate the different view points here at MJ's. You are right, I was referring to the word championship not the last Olympics. Please understand the point of the post not my mistake

I'm saying (todays showing proved) these players are not motivated nor do they have the desire to win. IMHO I think college kids would be better representation for the US and I didn't think this team had a shot at gold. Think back to todays game, now think about march madness, no money, no endorsements, just kids killing themselves to win...a ring and a piece of a net and championship. Pride is a driving force in NCAA, and I feel it should be in the Olympics (IMO) as well.

I Will NOT, NOR DID I EVER SAY I would pull for the other teams, but I will commend them. It is David vs. Goliath for every country going up vs US. These teams are out there giving 110% effort. I just wish to see that in return from our players. Effort....show me 110% and I will except any loss, because regardless of the score they represnted the US well!

Yes, I think it was just a coincidence that it happened to go off the moment I hit the link.

Why wouldn't I use Norton? I've never heard any complaints about it. The firewall catches a TON of stuff. I also use Ad-Aware SE. :)

Thats why the NBA SuckS!!!!

the whole league now is about dunks and making highlights of ESPN. Nobody wants to be a true point guard and make passes instead of shooting the ball. The NBA used to be awesome with all types of players. now all anybody cares about like i said before, is making it into either Sportscenter, rap albums, getting their own shoe. Look at McGrady. You think he is really that good??? He isn't a team player at all. god forbid he go to the Olympics and be overshadowed by other great players. he can't get his team anywhere in the playoffs and is always complaining about something. whatever happend to the point guards, the guys who can shoot 15 ft jumpers or pass the ball around. Thats why more and more each year, i can't stand the NBA. sooner or later, Stern is gonna be sorry for what he has done to the game....

Personally I miss the low post game. When they put in the 3-point line that part of the game gradually dried up. Being a center myself when I played, I always appreciated the guys who could bang down low a la Wilt, Russell, Kareem. Other than Shaq just plowing over people you don't see it anymore. And even that isn't the same. Kareem with those sky hooks, that was beautiful. It's all long-range 30% crap and wide open dunks now. Seven steps after the dribble....it just sucks. Then they add defensive 3-seconds in the key. Absolutely the stupidest rule ever adopted.

Where is Dr. Frankenstein

Where is Dr. Frankenstein

What is so surprising...IVERSON sucks. I've been saying this for years. When he was leading the league, his shooting percent was horrible.
I mean we tawkin' 'bout practice. Sorry, but this guy is in dire need of a brain. :flush:

posted this in NBA forum.......but....

posted this in NBA forum.......but....

Olympic basketball is the rebutal to anyone that thinks players SHOULD leave college early:

Iverson
Marion
Marbury
Carmelo
Lebron
Odem
Stoudemire
Wade
Jefferson
Boozer
Okafor -did recieve his degree but left after 3 years

Duncan is the only player on the US team to play his full career in college. I think UConn or Duke could beat this team.

Glad to see the early jump to the pros doesn't diloute the talent pool in the NBA :banghead:
