YTD [-12.50]
Week 2-2 (+0.26)
Tues 2-1 (+1.26)
Wow.....How bad are the Phillies? Thanks for helping me out Tuesday night.
I've had a bit of luck with some small dogs in the last few days, so I hope I'm not getting sucked in by these faves, but I think I've got three teams here in very good spots:
OAKLAND ATHLETICS (-135) As I said in Tuesday's thread, these are two very streaky teams, and I can see potential streaks in their patterns right now. The A's are hitting the ball very well right now, while the O's are not. I can't see this changing a whole lot as the Orioles get Mulder, and the Athletic bats see Ponson. As good as Sidney has been in his last 6 or 7 seven starts, he was equally as bad prior to those outings, and I think his 300 lbs (okay, maybe 295) are hinting at a regression to this earlier form (notice the poor K/BB ratio, even in his victories).
SAN DIEGO PADRES (-113) Admittedly, I am a bit concerned that Wells has not performed as well at pitcher friendly PetCo as on the road, however, San Diego needs the win badly after recent failures at home. Jaret Wright did not get out of the first inning on Tuesday night, and the Brave bullpen could be stretched a little thin as a result. Besides, this is Paul Byrd we're talking about on the hill for Atlanta. I don't know, but those words just aren't striking that much fear in me....
TEXAS RANGERS (-148) The home and away records of these two clubs are telling of a story, and I'm looking for a happy ending for the home team (only the Yankees have fewer home losses in all of baseball than the Rangers, and the Indians are 8 games under the level mark on the road). Similar to the situation with the Braves, the Indians got lit up on Tuesday night, and had to go to the pen early, probably removing a couple of arms (White, 36 pitches; Bartosh 40 pitches) from a suspect group. Oh yeah, then there's the best part of this whole tale......"so we took turns starin' out the window at the darkness
'Til boredom overtook and he began to speak...."
I haven't seen Doc's plays for Wednesday yet, but I'm gonna coattail him on this one..... :142lmao:
Happy :142hump: Day, and Best of Luck,
Sharky
