I don't have anything in writing or a article or anything but last week on a local radio station it was said that Batista has a undisclosed injury. Because of the limited amount of 'decent' pitchers the Jays have right now Batista says he still wants to play. Last time out Batista got rocked often and early and was removed from the game.

Pitcher Lopez for Balt is nothing close to a gem. Jays hit him hard.

CUT & PASTE FROM MLB.COM

Players to watch
The Orioles are batting .293 (22-for-75) against Batista, with 10 of those hits going for extra bases. Only two O's -- Javy Lopez and Miguel Tejada -- have more than 10 at-bats against him. They've combined to hit .258 (8-for-31) with three of Baltimore's five homers. The Jays, meanwhile, have hit Lopez hard, to the tune of a .358 (39-for-109) mark with 28 RBIs. Three players -- Eric Hinske, Carlos Delgado and Vernon Wells -- have combined to do most of the damage. That trio is hitting .420 (21-for-50) with eight extra-base hits. Delgado has three of the team's seven homers, all by himself.

While I haven't bet bases since NFL started I am making a play today.

The play for me today will be:

JAYS OVER 9 - 3 units.

GL BOYS

Easy and early win. The 3rd inning is not even over and its 7-3!

Congrats to those who followed. Will continue to play either against Batista or over the total when hes up as long as he plays a hitting team

Have a good one boys!

Just wanted to add a little bit more notes about Batista:

It does not seem he is losing any speed on his pitches. Fast ball is just as fast, Curve/breaking ball seems to have its movement but the problem is his location. He seems be having a very hard time both hitting the strike zone and maintaining control on the pitches that are suppose to hit the corner of the plate. He has 2 balls that hit the dirty in the second and a 2 wild pitches by the 2nd inning. I dont know what type of injury he has but he is in some discomfort. By the 2nd inning the guy looked like he was sweating buckets. Again, not sure what the injury maybe but my guess is his shoulder.

Not sure why they don't put him on a 15 DL but my guess is that the Jays depth with starting pitching is nothing to brag about. They have 2-3 rookies right now in the rotation and a bullpen that sucks.

Oh well, works for me. Can't wait to see him pitch again and hopefully the same thing happens!

CIAO BOYS.
