even though i hate the nfl, i'll try for 3 positive weeks in a row.

cleveland browns moneyline (+152) over ny giants
* i feel like ive got a good read on both these teams for some reason. have backed the giants in both games to start the season (1-1) and have played cleveland under in both their games (2-0). all i hear is how the clowns are beat up and giants will roll. well, yes -- the browns are injured. but how many times do we have to see an nfl team rally around injuries for the first week and win on pure emotion? hell, look at carolina last week. the browns injuries are going to seriously hurt them in the coming weeks. but the first week is always a great time to jump on the dog who the public writes off. the time to fade a banged up team is after the "rally week". and after a 0.0 passer rating, garcia can only improve. at very worst, browns defense should keep giving the cleveland offense chances.

arizona (+10) over atlants
* i guess im a sucker for arizona in the dog role. theyre obviously in the dog role most weeks, but for whatever reason, this has been a very good team for me. whenever i back em, they usually are sharp and competitive. the looked good in the dome in week one, so im not too worried about the turf situation. i just cant justify atlanta as a double digit chalk. maybe the smack the cards, but i dont see it. if arizona follows the blueprint for their opener vs. the rams (slow the tempo, run the ball), then i dont see this game ever getting stretched into double digits.

might add one or two more in the AM

Well gman..
Guess you were right about Wake.
They should take that BC kickers scholarship right back from him..
0-3 and missed a 22 yarder????
He's no David Gordon..

Scared of the Brownioes...
I think the Gints did it with mirrors last week but if they can stop the run of Cleveland they should prevail at home..

Glad at least you won wake..

hokie:

im not one of those cappers who think just because a play wins, that team was worth the bet and if a play loses it was a dumb bet. i look at the game objectively. the game was a tossup. both teams played well (except for bc kicking game ... who knew?) but both teams had chances to cover. wake did. but it wasnt one of my best wins. and everything you posted about bc was valid. they were prepared. id rather feel good about wins like the toledo game that was capped correctly, when you expect a blowout and thats how it plays out. thanks for your feedback throughout the week.

and talk about a lame nfl week. i might very well stick with those two plays above. only other game that i might consider is den/sd, but sun tzu was right -- terrible card in college and a terrible card in the pros.
