After a conversation with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law yesterday I am more convinced than ever that a general election is not the way to go about finding a leader of our country. After expressing how happy they were that once again Bush signed the child tax break for the next tax year I said that it's about the only thing he has got right in the past 2+ years and that it was a shame (for either party) that McCain was not on either ticket and almost immediatly they both said they could never vote for him since he is pro-choice. Thats it, nothing else goes into the decision making process just one issue that isn't going to change a damn thing in this country one way or the other. I guess the fact that Bush is getting thousands of young men and women killed in this disaster in Iraq is OK since they were killed after they were born and not just aborted. Reguardless of which side of the abortion issue you are on it is pretty narrow minded to vote for or against someone based on that issue alone. When the anti christ appears on the scene all he has to do is offer a small tax break and the promise outlawing abortion and the christians themselves will put him in office.
I maintian what I said about a year ago on this site and got beat up for it, the general population of this country should not be electing it's leader, they are not qualified for the job.

Pengy,

I said it a while ago too. Of course, I said we need to bring back Voter tests at the polls before you can vote. The people in this country are too uneducated to vote for leadership.
Case in Point---- Look who just got elected to a public office again in Washington DC... the crack fiend known as Marion Barry. How on god's green earth does a man shown buying crack from whores in seedy motel rooms get elected to a public position?

HOWWWWWWWWWWw

HHHHHHHHOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW

add in some of his wisdom...

First, it was not a strip bar, it was an erotic club. And second, what can I say? I'm a night owl." -- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"Bitch set me up." -- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"I am clearly more popular than Reagan. I am in my third term. Where's Reagan? Gone after two! Defeated by George Bush and Michael Dukakis no less." -- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

"The laws in this city are clearly racist. All laws are racist. The law of gravity is racist." -- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC

Goddam hippies, thats what it is... goddam hippies.

We need to not let people who shouldnt be voting, voting.

What the f*ck is this joke going on in california? oh, if you just give us a name and address you can vote... no reason to prove you are a citizen of US or a legal resident... why would we discriminate people like that?
and the Dems say its a underhanded, dirty Repub tactic to force people to prove their legality to vote!

Perhaps, just perhaps, there will be a large icnrease in one way international plane tickets bought on Nov 3rd.
What happens if Bush wins? do all these mighty dems just up and leave "dirty america"?
or do we geto 4 yrs of whining and complaining like 5 yr olds?

Penguinfan, you know we like you, but a vote against Bush is a vote for terrorism. Think about it!!

PP, all I can say is there is no way I vote for Kerry, I just don't like the simple minded reasoning some people use for endorisng or disliking a candidate.

I understand what your saying but each person has their thing. Some want Kerry because he is pro-choice. Some want Bush because he isn't. Your family members may be more concerned about the afterlife and following God's laws as opposed to the world's standards. Whatever, I think each person should have a voice and a vote. I agree though you shouldn't vote because of one thing and I do agree that many people aren't educated enough to understand what is truly beneficial. It's too bad, but what alternatives are there that wouldn't turn into a mess, fraction out the voice of some group, ie: those with no power or influence, etc. And who would police it all? To big a mess

Pirate fan you need to post in here more often. I like the way you present your opinions with a level head. It's so hard for me to find adult-like people in here who want to talk politics so don't be a stranger.
To me the war on terror is the most important thing. I still don't have any clue what Kerry plans to do about it. I guess it's irrellevant anyways at this point.
