The Rangers have refused to fade away in the AL

West, so it's hard to see why they'd be posted as

such big underdogs at home. So far in 2004 they

have been enormously successful against righties,

particularly in night games at Arlington (31-8, +$2225

with 6.3 runs per game). Escobar has been a money

burner (-$900) and the Angels have dropped a lot of

cash vs. righthanders (-$1015). We'll look for the home

team to keep things interesting, at least for one more

day.

Schmidt vs. Lawrence over 7.5 runs

After being the mid-season front-runner for the NL Cy Young Award, Schmidt has lost some of his superb form in recent weeks. It's very possible that he is still bothered by a groin injury that caused him to miss some action. However, his precense still brings the number down and it's a good time to jump on it. Schmidt has had trouble against the Padres this year, going 1-3 with a 7.46 ERA and a 12/21 BB/K ratio. Three of those four games went OVER. The Giants have one of the highest scoring offenses in the majors and will put up some runs in support

Lawrence was bounced last start by LA. To add to Raymond's stats, Lawrence is also 3-1 to the over against SF. SF vs RHP is 60% over for the year.
