I have been a Pinnacle supporter for a long time and have recommended them to everyone I talk to and in many posts here. I dont know whats been going on there lately though but they have really been sh*tting the bed. Three times in the last week I have had misgrades on their part that took the better part of a half day each time to correct and to get my money back. Sunday, I had two ML wagers on the Steelers. At halftime one of them, the larger, was inexplicably cancelled. It took 3 emails from me, they initially said there was no problem, then it was going to take some investigating, then it was a problem on their end, then they said they would fix it. It was eventually corrected. Tonight, I had a wager on Game 1 of the Yankees game, with Santana/Lieber starting a 4:05 game. Lieber was pushed around 3 pm and Mussina inserted in his place - so the wager should have been cancelled as I had action on Santana/Lieber only. I was waiting around wondering why and finally emailed them. They told me no, the wager I made was a Game 2 wager, it will be refunded when the game is over. When I told them no it wasnt and heres why and explained the starters and everything, they told me flat out that I was wrong. (One of Pinnacles problems is that when you review a wager ticket, it doesnt specify the start time of the event, or game # if its a doubleheader - have always *really* hated that about them). But to be told flat out that I was wrong? I mean, you look at the starters on the ticket: Santana/Lieber those were the Game 1 starters so I know damn well I was right.

Like I said, bottom line is the 3 issues were corrected within a day, but I havent had 1 issue with them in the last 4 years that I can remember - so to have 3 in a week really sucks. Anyone else with problems? What the hell is going on there?

I noticed they don't take Western Union and when they used to you haveto send at least a grand,..I'l stick with Olympic as I'm a 20 to 50 dollar a game small player and they pay the sending cost of anything over 300

Same here, I have never had one issue with Olympic. I find Pinnacles lines are slightly better, but its not worth a minor change in a baseball lines to have to put up with this.

I am very disappointed about the Western Union situation as well. I don't mind sending the $1000 as it is my preferred method of funding.
Perhaps if someone from Pinnacle, or anyone else for that matter, is reading, they can shed some light on the situation with a reason........and also let us know if this is just a temporary thing.

*Also, why do they do the terribly annoying thing for college foots............take 4 seperate pages to list the games. It mut be to gain some type of preventative edge, etc. but I really can't figure out what it is. Whatever their gain by this has to be offset by the number of wagers lost by it, as navigating it is a pain.

Like I said, I know the situations were corrected. But having one problem on their end is yeah OK something I can deal with. But two, then three, and being told *I'm* the one in the wrong - well thats just plain not going to work.

i hear a lot of people raving about pinnacle and i dont get it. just because a book has reduced juice and lots of betting options doesnt make them a good book. their customer service is mediocre, they arent taking western union now, and they (from what i hear) have absolutely ridiculous restrictions on parlays. im not a parlay player, but i thought i read that you arent allowed to parlay day games with night games in baseball, which is preposterous. theyre also a book that discourages phone communication which rubs me the wrong way for some reason. their book is incredible for options and reduced vig, but very mediocre otherwise.

This was the latest email from them:

"Dear Pinnacle Sports Client,

We regret the plays you selected and confirmed are not as you believed they should be. Please be assured that Pinnacle Sports does not change wagers made on our site.

All internet plays are made by the individual clients. As stated on our website, when wagering on the Internet, members are solely responsible for their own account transactions. All plays are clearly displayed for review and must be confirmed by entering your password before they are valid.

Unlike a telephone play, there is no process to review internet plays. We have the same account and wager information you see displayed using the Account Review section of the site.

We recommend that you very carefully review each transaction checking amounts, teams, over vs under, etc. before confirming your wagers. "

FVCK THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They recommend I CHECK MY WAGERS MORE CAREFULLY!!!! FVCK OFF! How the hell do they get off telling me I'm in the wrong. Lieber/Santana were the listed starters on their web site and the listed starters until late today.

HERE IS THE TICKET:

Wager Type: Spread (or run line)
Wager Status: Pending
Risk / To Win Amount: 105.00 / 113.40 (USD)
Date Accepted: 28-September-2004
Time Accepted: 8:15:24 PM (Pacific)
Sport/Period: MLB Baseball / Game
Teams: Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees
Game Date: 29-September-2004
Wager Line: Minnesota Twins -1 +108
Pitchers: JO. Santana - must start vs J. Lieber - must start

Real great sponsor and a hell of a way to dick around a long time customer over a wager they are going to refund when Game 2 ends anyway. Sure I'm happy the matchups got changed since I pushed instead of lost, but that doesnt excuse their horrific customer service.

This is for bandwidth purposes. Bots combined with a large customer base can take its toll on the servers. Splitting large slates into separate pages is an effort to reduce the overall load. Pinnacle is also working on an alternate approach. It's currently undergoing beta testing. This info was provided by a Pinnacle rep at another site. Would be happy to post the URL if Jack gives me the ok.

Update:

"Dear Sir,

We regret for any inconvenience however please notice that as already confirmed before your wager was for the Game 2, which has now been graded as no action.

Please note that our Baseball rules do not change because there is a double header.

However, the information contained under "Double Headers" was added to clarify these wagers. In many cases a pitcher is announced as pitching in Game 1, for instance, but pitches in Game 2.

Wagers are graded by the Game number, 1 or 2, using the pitchers who actually started.

Therefore, if you use listed pitchers for Game1, and one of your pitchers starts Game2, you will have no action. Or, if you use listed pitchers for Game 2 and both your pitchers start Game1, your wager will be no action even though the same two pitchers started the game.

We hope this answers your question."

I understand why the game was no action, however it should have been cancelled after Game 1, since I BET ON GAME 1 AND THOSE STARTERS DID NOT PITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FVCK PINNACLE!

Here was their final email this morning. All I asked them to do was review their own lines, and review a sports web site, or newspaper to confirm I wasnt making this up.

"Dear Sir,

We believe we have answered your question regarding this wager.

We provided information on what our site listed at the time of your wager. Please be aware we take wagers based on the information listed on our site, and not what may be posted on other sites. You may have seen other information.

We do not believe it is of any benefit to you or us to continue a discussion on what pitchers were listed for what game, or at what other site this information was obtained, or what game you believe you wagered on."

They were wrong and blamed me instead. Great sponsor.
