pitching matchup is pretty mediocre. no secret there, so im not gonna try and convince myself or anyone else that these guys will be throwing into the 7th or 8th innings. but throw in some coast-to-coast travel (something that doesnt come into play in the other 3 series) and a quicker turnaround than normal (afternoon game on east coast after night game on west coast) and i think we might just see some better pitching. i dont have umpire stats or info, but ANY strikezone today has got to be better than the zone that colon and pedro dealt with in game 2. anaheim's in desperation mode, so escobar should be gone at the first sign of trouble. one thing i DO like about arroyo is that he doesnt put unnecessary runners on base. his control is very good. call it 5-3 with boston putting anaheim down for the dirt nap.
