I do not post often but I though I'd throw my opinion in the mix. First, I Luv Minn +3.5 over UM. I still cannot figure this line out. Michigan has played virtually no one all year with the exception of ND where they were absoloutley steamrolled. They are sooo overrated and living on their past glory. This is a team that should have lost to San Diego State in their house. They beat a pathetic Indiana team and move up 5 spots in the national rankings.....what the f#$% is that? Yes, they have won 15 games in a row in for the "little brown jug" and something like something like 30+ outta the last 35 but history in today's game aint shit to me. Minnesota is for real this year. Don't let last weeks non-cover against PSU fool you. They were litterally flat on their ass looking ahead to this weeks game. After losing last years tilt by a field goal after blowing a three td lead in the last quarter, I believe this regular season game more than any for minnesota in a number of yrs will define the rest of their season. Do not underestimate what this game means to the Gophers themselves as well as this program. The hype over UM's vaulted defense is is just that..HYPE.

A couple of other strong plays for me are Purdue -10.5 over PSU. Once again, Joe Pa is getting mucho respect. This team is average at best. I look for Purdue to roll. Something like 35-10.

i can certainly see guys making cases for both teams in this game. there are valid reasons to play both michigan or minnesota here.

my only question is that you said you "cant figure this line out".

well, what SHOULD the line be? minnesota has proven over the years that they cant beat michigan and (if nothing else) michigan has one of the best defensive units in the country.

did you really expect minnesota to be favored in the big house?

i expected the line to be michigan -7 or -7.5. the fact that its so low is what tells me to just lay off and watch it.

this is certainly the best minnesota team in recent memory. their running game is incredible. but mason, for as good a coach as he is, just cannot get over the hump vs the big boys

Gman2. Didn't this line open at -6.5. I believed it would have opened at where it currently stands -3.5 to -4. That, more or less, was my disbelief. There is still a lot of value with Minny as there is plenty of non-belivers out there. I think there win over Wisky last year as well as their bowl win against Oregon showed that the "big boys" can be had if Minny plays to their potential. The RB tandem of Maroney and Barber should be able to produce some #'s behind an underrated offensive line. The one area I worry about is Minny's special teams. No doubt this is the Achilles heel of this 2004 squad. They cannot afford the mistakes they've made like last week against PSU. That was ugly. I'll be happy to take the 3.5 as I believe this is the year they finally break thru with a W in the big house.
