A loser is a loser anyway you cut it but I think I had last night's game capped as good as I could do it. I didn't foresee Shilling giving up 6 in 3 but I should have known Torre would out coach Francona. The starters went according to schedule (Shilling should have given up no more than 3) and Moose as good as he was wilted in the 7th. With two outs the NY bp couldn't get the out before Moose was credited with his 4th run. But it took a good coaching move and a couple of bad ones for NY to win. The good one was when the game was on the line, Torre brings in his closer to get the out. The bad ones, Francona brings in Wakefield and Timlin (both have proven to have trouble with the small zone) when the game is still up for grabs. Don't he think any of his middle relievers can go two innings even when they are pitching good? If they give these two tonight any room to operate (for some reason I think they will), Pedro wins. I still say the Bos bp is going to be the difference. Rivera should be mentally tired after what he has gone through and it should show up today. Torre knows he has no middle relief so what's he supposed to do? I look for a larger strike zone than we've be seeing so I will probably be 100% right or 100% wrong. Going with

Bos and under

If they use the wide zone Pedro will look like his old
self.

I didn't intend to write a book on the first game so I'll make this shorter. This is Hou's best shot at winning a game. Backe has handled the small zone better than any pitcher on the Hou roster so don't buy the hype about Clemens and Oswalt being over worked. And don't buy the hype about how bad Williams has done lately. He did just fine in his last game which also used the small zone. This is going to be a play based mostly on the lines. A ton of money is on Hou but the line hasn't budged. The money line is begging for Stl players to take it. The damn juice is so high I can't justify playing it but can't play the rl. Here's how I'm going to play it.

Bos -155
u 10
Stl u 10

Par Bos and Stl.

Good luck everyone

G, I agree with you on the Houston under. Both team's bats were hot the last series but I feel that Backe and Williams will have the offenses hitting into grounders and popflies. I am looking at a 6 or 7 run total.

Good Luck
