.....shit has gotten so bad that the bad beats are not even worth getting mad about anymore? That is the point that I have come to in these fuxing playoffs. I'm actually laughing at how I earlier lost 2 units on the No score in the 1st, now to top that off I just lost 4 units on the Under 5.5 (+120) for the first full 5 innings. Funny thing is, the 4 runs in the bottom of 5 doesn't even surprise me the way my luck has ran of late. Almost as if I was just waiting for it to happen. Knowing that third out was never going to come soon enough. I have officially taken over the life of the Bad Lieutenant, just that thank goodness my losses aren't as big as his were in the movie. HAHAHHA! Unbelievable! :cursin: :cursin:

Anyway, been playing plenty of unders, no score in the first inning, unders for the first five, etc, thinking this over bullshit has got to stop. Well, something is sure to stop after tonight and that is me wagering another dollar on this garbage, hitter's paradise they call the MLB playoffs! DONE, DONE, DONE!

If someone wants to win lots of money the rest of the playoffs here is what you do. Play No score in the 1st, Under for the first 5, and Under for the game the rest of the way through these playoffs and I would wager dollars to donuts that you come out with a tidy profit. The only basis for this is that I sure as hell am done with these wagers, so I have no doubt that they will start rolling in now that I quit betting them.

Not that I ever really contribute much, because I am a little timid about posting my plays, but I will not be back in these baseball forums until next season. Well, on second thought, just to pour salt in the wound I might track the three above wagers the rest of the way and post the results so that the positive units can make myself feel even worse!

Good Luck to All,

-JC :sadwave:

jc:

i feel your pain. i was torn between under 11 at (-105) and under 5.5 for the 1st 5 innings at (+110). i went back and forth before deciding on the under 11. it just dawned on me the way the under 5.5 lost for those that took it. thats garbage. ive always had a ton of success betting unders in mlb. unfortunately, im in your boat this postseason. the pitching is a joke. i have no problem giving credit to hitters when its due. but by and large, the pitching has been awful and theyre grooving pitches to power hitters. hell, im starting to lose faith in my under 11 cashing. felt good in the bottom of the 5th, and now BAM -- runs galore. very frustrating. its obvious you know your stuff so dont lose your confidence over this shit

Thanks for the compliment gman, it means alot coming from one of the various MJ 'cappers whose opinion I truly respect.

But, trust me on this one. I have officially sworn off the rest of the baseball season and I am sticking to it. I will not allow the temptation to suck me in. Football has been rough for me this year, too. Good f'in thing the college hoops season is getting closer and closer, huh gman?

In fact, the more I think about it..... I may just take a nice extended break until NCAABB starts. Might pop my head in from time to time during the rest of football to express an opinion or two, but no more wagers until then. We'll see how long my convictions can hold up.

Hoops season, specifically the college brand, is my first love and most profitable sport anyway. I think it is yours as well. After all, I know much more about the ins and outs of that sport from actually playing in HS. Not that, that alone is a criteria for pointspread success, but I never played football or baseball. Maybe I just don't know enough about football and baseball to be able to analyze the games deep enough and pull a consistent profit there?

Sticking to the one sport I know better than the others certainly won't guarantee anything, but at least I will feel like I have more of an edge and can place wagers more confidently without all the second-guessing I am doing right now.

Heck, maybe I am just now seeing the light  ? It is not like it is a novel concept..... great stock pickers and investors have preached the same strategy for some time. They pick stocks in sectors that they have the most knowledge in. I'm gonna try it with my future sports wagering. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, I remember having lots of good conversations with you, Sun Tzu, johnnyb and others during last year's NCAABB season and will be looking forward to it once again. Until then.... :sadwave:

Good Luck to All,

-JC

Thanks for the other replies, NY and Pujo. I guess it's true what they say....misery loves company  .

NY, I'm glad to see somebody else is done with this year's version of the MLB playoffs. I say they might as well give these guys some fungo bats and juiced balls and play "first team to reach the century mark wins." They could just turn the MLB Playoffs into the baseball equivalent of an NBA All-Star Game. You know....EVERYBODY loves to watch that (sarcasm, sarcasm)!

Good luck to all you fine MadJacker's on the rest of your baseball and football wagers!
