the Cards may have had a better showing if they had home field advantage in the 1st two games?

Things did fail greatly all at once for them, but I'm thinking the wild card team may not have won the 1st two games if they had to play them in St Louis.

This series at least may have gone 6 or 7.

I never had an interest in the outcome of the series personally or financially, just think a team that has by far the best record in baseball, maybe should have gotten a little something something for a season's worth of effort.

Too bad the outcome of the All-Star EXHIBITION game determines home field advantage for the Series. we can thank Commisioner Darth Vader for that!

I agree with you. If SOX made 8 errors in the first 2 games AT St. Louis, I don't think they go 2-0.

That said, it prob. would only have prevented the sweep as the SOX prob. would still win the series. Unless Shilling was not able to take the mound again. Then things would have been interesting. Rolen/Edmonds/Sanders were horrible in the series.

I will say this, however......

THE SO-CALLED BEST ALL-AROUND TEAM THIS PAST YR SURE TURNED IN ONE OF THE CLASSIC STINKER PERFORMANCES IN WORLD SERIES HISTORY.

After a very competitive and exciting Game 1, the Cards' offense laid down like lambs waiting for slaughter in the next 3 games. C'mon.....3 RUNS IN 3 GAMES ?!?!?!?!?! That's absolutely pitiful. Phat Albert did his part. Larry Walker chipped in too. But Rolen, Edmonds, Renteria and company sure picked a fine time not to show up for the most important games in their life.

Cardinals were absolutely pathetic AT HOME IN ST. LOUIS. Down only 2 games to none and they could only muster barely a weak effort. Hate to say it, but I have no sympathy for them at all.
