Adding Ga Tech write up from one of my sources...GL
For all intents and purposes, both teams enjoyed a respite last week. Georgia Tech?s came in the form of a bye week in their schedule. Virginia Tech?s was disguised in a gift wrapped 62?0 whitewash win over Division I-AA Florida A&M. The Hokies did what they do best, forcing five turnovers against undermanned FAMU, who was a Division 1-A school briefly last season before reclaiming I-AA status after only one year.
Despite Virginia Tech?s glowing 18?2 ATS mark on the road off a non-conference game, the fact remains Georgia Tech is 11?2 ATS as home dogs of two or more points off back-to-back SU wins and 16?8 ATS as an underdog off a double-digit straight-up win.
Keep in mind that Virginia Tech tends to begin an annual swoon just about this time of the season. That?s confirmed by the Hokies 11?13 SU and 6?18 ATS mark from Game Six out the previous four seasons.
Last week?s scrimmage aside, we won?t ignore the fact that VT is 1?15 SU and 2?14 ATS off back-to-back wins when facing a rested foe during the regular season. With the Ramblin?Wreck at home, we won?t ignore the history, and neither should you.
