IN PERSON: Register in the municipal clerk's office up to 5:00 PM on the day before the election. (For the September Partisan primary, that date is Monday, September 13, 2004 and for the November general election that date is, Monday, November 1, 2004.) Note: after the BY MAIL deadline, the elector shall present acceptable proof of residence as outlined below.

AT THE POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY: If you wish to register to vote at your polling place, you must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 10 days preceding the election. For purposes of voter registration, a form of identification constitutes acceptable proof of residence if it includes:
1. A current and complete name, including both the given and family name; and
2. A current and complete residential address, including a numbered street address, if any, and the name of a municipality.

First of all ocelot my life is not f'd up. I am doing just fine thank you. And I do believe that everyone has a right to vote and should vote. I have no problem with the elderly recieving any benefit available to them. If Kerry wins, my taxes will go up to pay for the policies kerry says he wants to envoke. The group mentioned is voting for kerry hoping to get more benefits that middle class america(me) will have to pay for period. I am white but I am not angry. Sounds like you are angry and scared. Take the high road!

You can not walk up and vote the day of a election in florida. You have to register in advance!(See above)

Went down to the City Hall to cast my absentee
Ballot today. Was awed by what i saw. The whole 5th floor was 3 wide with new voters registering to vote. Outside the whole block was lined with vans and busses full of new and early voters. A sea of humanity. A 90 year old lady on crutches and oxygen that collapsed multiple times before she got to vote wore her Jerry/Edwards button proudly. Guess her time left on this earth was short but she wanted to get this in before she left us. The crowd was predominantly young, black, asian, unemployed, disabled students and elderly. I talked to maybe a dozen plus people but it was my sense that these were all John Kerry people...and not just the few i conversed with. If this is going on nationwide........Bush/Chaney are toast. There is even slippage amonst Evangelkicals here as evidenced by some Yuppie suburban polls.
Warmed my heart to see America once again rising up to free itself from the cabal of neo-cons now in the White House.
Help may indeed be on the Way!!!!!!!!!!!

just an FYI.... must vary by state. in Iowa, the deadline was sometime last week while i was vacationing there, and in Minnesota, you can register AT the polls on election day.
