YTD: 35-23 +13.61 units

Tennessee Pk (4 units).....Tennessee owns South Carolina historically, 18-2-2 lifetime vs the Gamecocks, and haven't lost to them since 1992. (Coach Fulmer is 11-0 vs SC.) Ainge has made some rookie mistakes, and that pick 6 vs Ole Miss was one of the worst I've ever seen, but Tennessee is still winning games, and in the long run Ainge still manages a good game and keeps them in games. South Carolina's big problem is turnovers, and while they can get away with coughing up the ball five times vs Kentucky and still winning, they won't beat the Vols with such sloppy play. Expect a low scoring game, and South Carolina should stay in for a while, but the overall talent of the Tennessee defense will win out in the end. People have been knocking the Vols for not covering the past two weeks, but they've still been winnings, and that's all they have to do this week to pay out.

Oregon State -7 (3 units).....been on this train for two weeks in a row and will keep riding them as long as they stay hot. What I like most about this team is that they don't have a single bad loss, sure they got blow out by Cal, but they have not lost to any teams that they should have beaten. And now that they are into their conference schedule they have hit their stride. The offense has come alive, and more importantly does not make a lot of mistakes. Arizona's defense continues to play hard, but their offense gives them no room for error. I'm sure Stoops will start to turn this team around eventually, but based on their six straight losses it might not happen this year. He's building for the future, and with this offense it looks like he's willing to take a few steps back in order to take many steps forward in the future. While they are getting the younger guys playing time and game experience, I think it's time to make some money off them.

West Virginia -14 -125 (2 units)...WV need to keep making statements and bumping there chest that they are heads and shoulders above the rest of the Big East. Don't know if we'll see they 80-7 or the 40-0 games we've seen recently when these two have met but I do expect the Mountaineers to put up a lot of points.

Mizzou -2.5 (1 unit)...just a gut play, take it for what it's worth. Mizzou can't afford another loss or they'll be playing in the toilet bowl and the Nebraska defence just isn't the Blackshirts we are used to.

Yep..Oregon State is hitting stride now. The ship looks like it's been righted.

What makes it even better is that they are doing this after getting swamped by California . That came after a loss at ARIZ. ST., but they actually out-yarded Ariz St. by over 100 yards at Tempe.

And let's not forget they went toe to toe with LSU and then had to go to that hell hole Boise State right after that.
7 is a makeable number here.

and i liked Tennessee too before reading this and that was exactly my thoughts with Tennessee. By now the TENN QB's have gotten their feet wet.
Hey what's the deal with these two South Carolina QB's Newton and Pinkins Doubtful. Looks like South Carolinas running backs are going to be working.

GOOD LUCK on these and thanks--I'm on them now ! and I'm making them a tag team on a 6 point tease. we will definately be in the hunt in both games.
Thanks again

Can't get a concrete answer on the QB situation, it looks like to me that both Pinkins and Newton are not 100% but they are leaning to an injured Pinkins. My guess is they are keeping it hush-hush so Tennessee can not prepare for only one guy. Gun to my head I'd guess Pinkins gives it a go but is on a short lease.

Thanks for the well wishes -- but of luck to you guys as well.

I would definetly consider Baylor.....I had a nice writeup in my thread earlier, but got deleted. I can't believe A&M struggled with Colorado last week at home! I know it was a typical let down spot, but that Colorado offensive unit is the "WORST" I've seen the Buffs have in a long time and they scored against A&M. Baylor, at home, has played pretty good ball and last week really should've won their game vs. Iowa St as they completely dominated that game in all aspects. I think they come out and play another competitive game at home.....if Colorado can put up over 500 yds of offense, I know Baylor is going to put up points! Oklahoma also on deck for A&M which is a plus.....

Pinkins (partially torn rotator cuff) should start and play the majority of snaps on Saturday, unless he reinjures his shoulder. If he does reinjure the shoulder, then Newton (sp. ankle) would be the man as much as possible. Newton will see some snaps though even if DP doesn't reinjure the shoulder. Holtz loves that 1/2 combo. Both are scramblers, but Newton is much quicker than Pinkins.

If both are hurt then look for a combo of Rathe (threw gw TD vs UK), and Mitchell. That's a last resort type of situation though.

Pinkins says his shoulder is 85-90%. I think Newton is a little more limited than he's letting on, but hell, he could be sandbagging everybody.

Thanks USC Gamecock -- that echoes much of what I have read this week. Going to be intersting as to how it plays out.

You're exactly right, it should be a very interesting game. I tend to agree with you on UT, although that could be bad news for you...seems like every opinion I post on here about SCAR has been wrong this season. However, my thoughts are as follows...

SCAR hasn't beaten UT since 1992, and it took LB Hank Campbell stopping UT on their 2 point conversion at the end to win that game. Simply put, UT has owned SCAR ever since. Sure SCAR has had their share of close calls (including last year's OT loss, and the year before in Cola), but the bottom line is that they haven't been able to secure the "elusive" W in the last 11 years. Since the line is a "pick" (or 1 pt. either way), SCAR has to get the W to cover, and I won't believe it until I see it. Are they capable of winning? ABSOLUTELY...Will they win? Only time will tell.

Everybody here in Columbia is feeling VERY confident for some reason I just can't grasp. If the team that showed up for the first half of the UGA game shows up on Sat, then SCAR will win. However, if the team that showed up in the UK game or MISS game shows up, SCAR will lose badly. I think it will be close, but until SCAR proves they can beat UT, my money will be going on Rocky Top.

Agree with you USC --- of course the Gamecocks do have a chance of winning, but in my mind it is much less than a 50% chance, and with the line at pk I'll play the odds. If South Carolina does show up with that A+ effort they had early vs Georgia, then I can accept that, you can't win them all. Just feel a lot of things will have to break right for them to win this one.

Best of luck to you with whatever you play.

You're exactly right. Like I told someone today, for SCAR to win Sat. they will need the "Perfect Storm." A perfect combo of OL play, DL play, QB play, RB play, DB play and Special Teams play. AT the same time, UT will have to play much less than perfect. Put all of that together and you're asking a whole lot outta SCAR.

Here is the very latest from Lou about the QBs...

Dondrial?s not 100 percent, Syvelle?s not 100 percent, but I expect them both to play on Saturday. Dondrial will start. He?s had much more work, but Syvelle?s been sharp considering everything. Health wise, we?re in pretty good shape considering everything. What?s important now is just for us to gather out thoughts mentally and not to get uptight but to be anxious to play. And I think they are. It?s been a good week. I cannot ask any more out of this team than what they?ve given us the last two weeks.

Always enjoy your great insight Blackman. After my initial pencil job I usually pull out the pen and circle my choice immediately when I see you're on a play. I love Tenn. They own SCar. Let's hope the domination continues this week. OreSt looks solid as well. Lots of great MJ cappers backing this one. BOL on your plays and I'll keep my eye on your thread for any additional plays :)

Alright the line keeps moving and now with the line for Tennessee at +1 +105 I added another unit and a half. I've never thrown a label on a play but as a frame of reference this is the most I've put on a game all year.

Best of luck guys.
