i think not having to shovel snow is the main reason i like living in a country setting (that, and not raking leaves)

I use a Yard Machine that I picked up from Wal-mart about 6 yrs ago. Pretty cheap and it came with elec. start. The only problem I ever had was something plugged up the jet so I had to clean out the carb. Other than that I havent had a single problem with it.
For the heavy wet snow..spray the blades and chute with a silicone spray to help keep the snow from sticking and clogging.

did plenty of raking at my dad's house last week
(and after getting totally sick of it, bought him a 2 cycle blower/mulcher for his birthday, wrapped the empty box and USED the damn thing)

didn't buy the Deere rider for nothing, so sooner or later once all the leaves have fallen, i'll get around to mulching if things dry out before the snow flies. Otherwise, the grass will have a leaf blanket under the snow this year (AGAIN
