houston rockets (+6.5) over detroit
cleveland cavaliers (-2) over indiana
both houston and detroit grind it out. i just think 6.5 is a lot to lay on opening night. obviously, we dont know what were going to get from the tmac/yao duo yet, but im willing to take my chances that detroit doesnt live up to the hype right out of the gate.
cleveland has to take advantage of the opportunity to steal an early season win from arguably the best team in the east. for once, its not the cavaliers who have all the injuries - although wagner is hurt again, theyre relatively healthy. this is a very winnable opener (something they havent had in the last few years) and especially with the way they started last season (0-5 right out of the gate) i think they understand that this one, although its only 1 of looonngg 82, can be a springboard to a season that has expectations.
