quick writeups on the rest. will add more to em when i get a few minutes.

eastern michigan/central michigan over.
*cmu has played in some very difficult conditions the last few weeks. they played in a rainstorm in toledo two weeks ago, and then dealt with 40mph winds that completely took both cmu and wmu out of their offense last saturday. weather wont be a problem saturday indoors at ford field. the improved cmu offense should have a good deal of success against a porous emu defense, and if nothing else- emu has enough talent on offense to trade scores. two of the best running backs in the mac going at it here (sherrell and seymour). really think this is a shootout and im hitting this one hard.

*western michigan over bowling green
sort of the same principles as my emu over bowling green play last week. bg playing out their month-long string of games against mac bottom feeders. bg is gonna tear apart the wmu defense, but the broncos can score more than enough to keep up. cubit has played very well for wmu the last few weeks, and jennings has had some monster games on the receiving end. bowling green is laying 30+ points with far bigger fish to fry on deck. a home date with marshall awaits next week followed by a trip to rival toledo to close the season.

*ohio state over michigan state
god help me if these sons of bitches dont cover. i cringe every time i hit the submit button on osu, as i anything but an osu fan. but the emergence of smith coupled with the deflation of the double-OT loss for msu leads me to think the bucks are the way to go here. smith isnt really doing anything spectacular. but it seems like the guys around him are just playing harder than they were when zwick was under center. ginn is proving to be the most explosive buckeye since david boston. nothing osu does on offense is going to strike fear in msu, but just feel like osu will find a way to win.

*oregon state over usc
in my opinion, the most dangerous game usc has remaining. this is a game that could be a LOT closer than the line indicates. now i offer this caveat: every time i bet on derek anderson, he turns the ball over like a motherfu/cker, so beware. but hes actually been really good lately and hasnt been turnover prone (its amazing how that works. when you dont turn the ball over, you win. wow. what a concept). osu got their asses handed to them by cal earlier this season in corvalis, but this is still one of the toughest venues in the pacific time zone. really think beavs keep this within 2 scores, if not closer.

G: Thanks for the expert tag LOL :142lmao: maybe on the hardwood but not at the rubber bowl for sure.

Here is my take for what it is worth. I agree with pretty much all that you said, and I have been preaching all year about playing against the Herd when laying on the road. Stan Hill just ain't going to bury you, and I've made some good coin on the Herd this season, as they have been a great dog play as well.

The Zips really looked like a great play sunday night at +10' and the line has followed those sentiments. But all week as the line has come down my thoughts of the Herd have gone up. While Biggs has been a nice fit and rolling up some nice numbers, look who he has been running on. Buff ,UCF Ball State ?? All of them them they are giving up about 200 yds a game on the ground and I think that you or I could rack up a little yardage against those pretty horrific defenses. We will see how he fares againsf the Herd tonight, I'm thinking maybe not so well. Marshall has a nice front 7 and features Jonathan Goddard who in my mind is the best defender in the MAC. Keep an eye on him tonight, the guyis an animal and I don't think the Zips will be able to keep a body on him.

The Zips certainly do not own a quality win this season and have been blown out by by every decent team that they have played all season. I just think the Herd brings way too much D tonight and they dominate. Can't play the Zips getting less than double digits.

Pruett has already talked to his team about the spanking the Zips gave then 2 yrs ago in the game that a battered Leftwich was carried to the line of scrimmage by his linemen. Can't see the Herd not being sky high for this effort tonight.

Marshall -8' Now 7' at (Oly)

just like i planned it with the zips  thanks o'connor.

playing virginia (-14) over maryland

just think this is a great siutational spot for virginia. not only do they catch maryland off a big upset of florida state, but their schedule sets them up perfectly for this game. they got their ass handed to them by fsu. that knocked 'em off the public pedestal a little bit. then they had their "woe is us" game against duke the next week where they were totally lethargic and went through the motions in half-assed fashion. and then they get the bye week after that to prepare for the stretch run. theyve already taken their loss, theyve had their requisite "feel sorry for themselves" game, and now are rested off the bye to blast virginia. i think this one is a rout.

Well, I just got home from the Zips game and I'm hammered ! Great call G !! I dropped a couple of bills on this one but for some reason I feel pretty damned good about it!! Thought I was on the right side , but damned if the Zips didn't show some grit and determination,as well as catching a few breaks. Was it just me , or did the Herd players seem to have a hell of a time catching the ball tonight? Hill was actually pretty damned good and should have had a couple more TDs if not for some drops.

Certainly, one of the strangest 4th quarters I have ever observed :scared :scared Glad you were the beneficiary :)

it wasnt you. marshall dropped some easy, easy balls in the 2nd half. if you would have told me that stan hill would have passed for 400+, i would have said that my akron ticket was tantamount to a united way deposit. but frye really looked good in the 2nd half of that game. ill tell you who is WAY better than i thought: dominek hixon. that kid does not drop anything and is especially tough in traffic.

what do you got for me in the mac today? you playin anything?

last play:

hawaii (-3.5) over louisiana tech

tech's ability to run the ball is definitely a concern for the hawaii defense, but just get the feeling june will be pulling out all the stops to get that awful boise taste out of his mouth. if id be really surprised if chang puts up back-to-back lame efforts especially now that he is going to break the ncaa passing record at home. hawaii's schedule down the stretch is not exactly favorable so picking up this game to move closer to bowl eligibility is vital.

G,
i think l. tech runs away with this one, their running back is very good and hawaii has major injuries on that side of ball. i heard they are starting 2 true frosh linebackers tonite! f.w.i.w.

johnny:

it could happen. latech has faced some quality competition this season in non-conf so im sure hawaii's defense will be in slow motion for them. but the latech/hawaii games always favor the home team since the visitor has to log major air miles and travel time. if hawaii doesnt perform better after arguably their most embarrassing performance in school history, then ill be surprised.

(big) 2nd half
central michigan (-2) over eastern michigan

halftime stats are even. both teams are chunking away yards. scores left and right. but when it comes down to crunch time, cmu's defense is better. chips should win this game.

going for the jugular:

oregon state 2nd half (+8) (+100)

this one has upset written all over it.
2nd half line very tempting for usc bettors, as "all they have to do is win"
problem is......they wont win.
