Well I told you guys a couple of weeks ago about my best friend and mentor who was KIA last month-we were both officers who served in Somalia and the 1st Iraq war together-well I flew down to a memorial service for him and others who died from that out fit in Washington Thursday (vets day)....well I have been out of the service and out of the loop for a while I guess (for personal reasons) because what I was hearing about the leadership from the the Top on down made me sick.

Now this is not a political thing from me it is just a fact from guys I talked to that have been in the thick of the shit-not paper pushers but officers directing ops......they say to a person that the the upper brass don't have a chance at giving there soldiers a break at doing the right maneuvers because the powers at the top are hanging these units out to dry...everything from running missions with low personnel total to dangerous tactics with substandard equipment...there has been a lot of banter on this board about this war...and the Worm has stayed away from it-but if anyone thinks this thing is not a exact duplicate for Vietnam they need their heads examined-because it has been a Vietnam since the start

Dan--it happened a lot more in 'nam than people think--I hope and pray that things like that do not happen in this war but it has already strted to unwind with that one unit refusing its orders because the mission was too stupid (for lack of a better term)

Another thing people don't realize the UCMJ allows a serviceman to not obey a lawful order if it could be classified as suicidal. In the case of multiple refusal as the quartermaster drivers, the onus is on the accuser.
