Iona -6 over Northern Zona **** strong play
Gaels are loaded.They have the best talent in the MAAC.Only predicted for 4th place due to coaching and problems.
They have 3 pre-seasons all MAAC players in Jenkins,Solivar and Burtt.Jenkins is the 6'9 kid inside who has that soft touch.He was hurt last yr.Burtt is the top scorer.McCullough is one of the best pt gds.Bruin was the super frosh lyr.Washsmann was the 6'8 sub.And Ruland got one of the top freshman in Gary Springer.He will win rookie of the yr.The only reason he went to Iona was his father who still holds many of Iona's records.
They have 4 gds that could start on any team.There fds and center are solid.have depth,etc
But Ruland is the worst coach.No discipline.Players are in trouble.The Univ fired all 3 of his asst coaches.He is on the bubble big time.And Henson the 6'8 shot blocker was left in New Rochelle.Academic problems.Atkins another gd was suspended.
There problem is there is only 1 ball.How do you keep all these guys happy.
NAU has two solid gds in Golub and Feuerback.Lyr they played Marist and the Foxes beat them.Maybe that was 2 yrs ago.
If Iona plays just a little bit of defense they should manhandle the Lumberjacks.
But Iona likes to shake and bake,take 3's when no ones underneath,etc.I think with Jenkins back they get back to basics.And Springer will have his 1st college game and everyone will notice.
Houston -6 over Sam Houston *
Penders back.Sam H has a lot of talent.But the Coogs will try to run and gun and Penders has no mercy.
VCU -12 over American *
Col Charleston +7 over Colorado **
Herrion can coach his ass off.He lost a lot of players but so has Colorado.Cougars could win this outright despite home game for Buffs.
