Syracuse -4.5.....Cuse is very familiar with the Garden and have played very well there as of late, and they've been more impressive than Miss State so far this year. Miss State's inability to shoot free throws really has stuck out to me thus far, and if they shoot under 50% from the line in this one it will be a blowout. Think the line is low for the talent Syracuse has and the crowd support they will get in the Garden.

blackman:

devils advocate says syracuse was one of the worst free-throw shooting teams in the ncaa last year (and they brought everyone back) if not for mcnamara, they would have been near rock bottom in D-1 from the line. personally, i like miss state here. but dont exactly like going against you and some other sharp guys on the cuse.

Rick Stansbury and crew against a zone. Ha! They

stood around with their hands on their hips

watching Butler take them out of the NCAA's

with a zone a couple of years ago, when their

All-American big man wasn't a factor because

they couldn't get the ball into him in the

right places.

Different All-American big man, same problem.

When they go in to Lawrence Roberts, some

experienced Syracuse arms will deflect or pick

it off and streak the other way for points.

G -- point well taken. I'm just basing this on what I've seen so far this season, and Miss State been so cold from the line it is painful to watch. Also, I was less than impressed in their ability to break the press that Fairfield play against them. Over the long haul I do agree this will be a solid team this season but they do not look like a team ready to beat Syracuse in NYC just yet.

Utah State -4.....return 3 starters from a very solid team last year, who was ranked for a short stink to end last years regular season. Georgia Southern's leading assist man is recovering from surgery and is not ready for tonight. Usually don't by into the time zone as a factor, but the difference between Utah and Alaska is a lot less than the difference between Georgia and Alaska. Taking a shot on the short line.

Not impressed with Syracuse so far,but it is early yet.
MSU is shadowing Mcnamara and Warrick has only had a defensive presence thus far.
If these 2 dont step up then they will lose outright tonite.
Forth is borderline retarded.
