Sounds like those natives need to hire some better legal representation with all of that money they make. I have a hard time feeling sorry for them. With this new casino craze they might be the most entitled group of people ever to walk the planet. Sore spot with me. "Those poor oppressed indians living on their destitute res..." <<<<NOT

That said, if the 2 guys bilked them out their money, they should face the music too.

That's certainly true in Wisconsin and Minnesota... but that's not the case with them all. I lived in South Dakota for a year, and I couldn't even fathom having to live in the conditions of some of the reservations there. Just awful.

yeah we need to give them more money in South Dakota...as once proud people who were the epitome of self-reliance now have been crippled by the federal government

unreal how some people think the more you give people the better things get....hopefully the fed's start giving them checks weekly instead of monthly....then and only then wilo the reservation problem be fixed

nothing serves as better evidence against more federal government than what has happened on the reservations to a once proud people

I didn't say anything even remotely related to needing to give them more money.

I just said that not all Indians are living the high life because of casinos, and places like Pine Ridge (which literally made me sick to my stomach to think of actually trying to raise a family there the first time I saw it) are strong examples. Nothing to do with giving them more or less money at all. Just the actual, physical conditions of the place.

i didn't say you did

i actually was planning on going back to the Rosebud area after residency for a while but plans changed since after i chose a different specialty/got married

still would like to eventually do some things for the area though as there are more needy people there than anywhere.......

it is a place decimated by poverty, alcoholism, and government-handouts....very sad situation and somehow someway there needs to be some economic development there because you have a decent sized potential workforce there......however few are willing to work right now nor probably able after decades/generations of the same government feeding frenzy

You must be the one who doesn't like the "fags". Never said I don't like indians, I had a great-grandmother who was an indian.

I really don't like you, so, I guess you're next.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do the Indians manage the casinos themselves or does the government set up corporations for them?

the owners pay so incredibly poor to their own people that most of the employees qualify for all types of government aid. complete scam.

A) Easy solution to whining about Indian casinos. Don't patronize them.

B) My Dad works for the BIA in Gallup, NM. One thing's for sure - nobody has it easy around there. I guess after 350+ years of wretched treatment of Native Americans, we should now bitch because a few get what can be seen as a handout. Give me a break - the amount the feds give them is a drop in the ocean compared to our entire budget.
