MAAC games

Manhattan -9 over Fordham **
Jaspers still learning to play w/o Flores but they are 2-0 and freshman sensation CJ Anderson is the real deal.Avg 13 pts and 8 bds. He's 6'6 and can pass the ball.Another frosh is 6'8 Dubois who can score and rebound. What an addition to the front line.Mulligan their best player has moved out to the gd spot.Minor and Wingate are avg at the pt.Kono still is there best shooter. Not a lot of depth but they all play tough defense Gonzalez style.
Rams are coming off a 6-22 yrs.But Whittenberg has done a good recruiting job.He has a 6'8 frosh in Dunston that can play.Ya'Akosi and Osei are back. They are not a good perimeter team. But improving.
MC ended its season winning ats 9 of last 10.Beat Florida and lost to wake by 4 in the NCAA's.Pressure defense and Flores was the reason.
Jaspers beat the rams lyr 90-77.I think they can win this by double digits.
This is a big rivalry game. Both schools are a few miles apart.I was born in Fordham hospital and grew up across the street. My father is a Manhattan graduate. If Bobby G can run it up a little he will. Not a big play because the Flores graduated.

Niagara -12.5 over Johnnies *
A small lean to Purple but 12 is a lot of points.Mendez,Brooks, etc, are all solid. But Hill is a top gd.Hamilton at 6'9 will give Mendez some problems.Freshman Grey at 6'6 didn't impress me in HS where I saw him play for 2 yrs.But maybe he's really good.Johnnies don't have much.
Purple ended its season on an ATS run winning 8 of last 9.They gave Prov a good game.Small lean.MAAC teams would love to beat a BE team.NU was favored lyr and lost to the Johnnies 72-65.

Cuse -16 over Siena ***
Saints have lost 4 in a row.Albany beat them.Haddix is the only player that can play with the Orange. And he's an inside player so he'll have Warrick,Forth and co to deal with.Mac,Nichols, etc will be to much.Saints top shooter Beers broke his wrist so he's out.The 2-3 extended zone will give Siena big time problems.Think they stay with them for awhile but Boe and his gang will pull away.In the past 4 or 5 yrs Cuse has won this game by over 35 pts.Lyr it was closer 74-61.
Pepsi Arena in Albany will have a lot of Cuse fans there so its not a big time home court advantage.

Rider pick over Drexal *
Tough game to capp. Both teams got spanked.Bucknell beat Rider 69-50 and Penn blew away Drex 81-50.Lyr Drex beat Rider 64-43.
Jerry J Riders best player and one of the MAAC's best shooters shot 1-13 vs Buck,Castleburry the 7'0 and Muniz are tough inside.Mouton and Taylor aren't bad.
Flints team is favored to win his conf.He has all gds and they can play. But they can't shoot FT's and are poor rebounders.Hate playing Rider but just think Johnson plays tough. And maybe they get the ball into Castleburry because there is no one to stop him.But Drex has the better athletes and are quicker.

Bonnires +7.5 over Canisius or Can -7.5 over Bonnies*
Another tough game to capp.Bonnies can't shoot, lost to Iona and Marist already.Bonnies are 1-12 ats in last 13 games. On the road 2-11.Griffs aren't any better.Home there 3-7 ats.Already they lost to powerful Howard 87-67.[Not really powerful]
Will pass on this game.Maybe a lean to the Griffs.

Auburn -6.5 over La Tech ***
Lebo,Lebo and Lebo.Give him some time and the Tigers will be on top of the SEC.He has a small team with many gds. Some great freshman in Douglas and Tolbert.Brown and Young are solid. But his whole team is 6'1,6'2,6'3,6'3,6'3 6'5 and 6'6.But its full court pressure. They can shoot and they like their 3's.
LaTech comes in with Millsap who led the nation in rebounding. They have nice size in the frontline but are mistake prone. They are a poor shooting FT team and aren't great shooters.Think pressure defense will hurt Techsters and Tigers get a double digit win at home.

Will post a few later.Best plays Cuse and Auburn.
Won big yest with Georgetown. And that Washington team is a pleasure to watch. They couldn't put OU away but hung in there.Robinson amazes me.

Oregon -3.5 over Marshall ****
Like the Ducks here even though they are "young ducklings".Hairston is one of the best freshman in the country.Taylor is another frosh that can play. With Crosswhite and Platt in the frontline thats 7'0 and 6'10 bodies.Brooks will take over on offense since the ducks lost almost all there offense. But Kent plays tough defense.Ducks contest shots. They play 10 guys that pressure all the time.Marshall knocked off East Tenn the other nite. But they are turnover prone and I think will have problems protecting the ball.Hamilton is there best player with a good frosh named Anderson. They return 3 starters and their frontline has Patton who is 6'9.
Marshall is not a good 3 pt shooting team and not known for their defense.
I think the Ducks dominate them like they did lyr 90-61.I know most of those guys that scored the 90 pts are gone but I think Oregon is in a different class.Defense wins this and the Ducks can do that.A double digit win.

I'll Take the Bonnies +7.5 over Canisuis *
Lottin is back.Think this game will be close.

Cuse and Auburn won.
Good call caper. Thanks Joytoy..GL to you.

Box The Canisius line dropped to 5 almost every where, and I jumped. St Bonnies has gotten schooled by the Mac it its two games so far. Maybe we both win and the griffs win by 6.

Good luck to you tonight.

FYI

SBU and Canisius is at HSBC Arena in Buffalo. There will be NO home court advantage as both play here regularly.
I am an SBU alum-don't have a great read on Anthony's team yet-BUT I will always grab a half dozrn or more points in this rivalry-it is usually nip and tuck no matter what.

GL

thanks Funky..
PUHD..nice job on the Jaspers and Ducks.I hit a few parlays besides straight plays.
I watched the Manhattan game.RJ Anderson is unreal. What a great interior passer.Mulligan had 31.But Fordham has some good looking freshman.Manhattan play Fairfield on Tues.
Oregon looks like it dominated Marshall.

Another Steve..glad you made out.

wannabe..I guess its a close game still.Bonnies holding on.Loved Timmy Winn. His HS coach at LaSalle is a good friend of mine.
Clem not sure why the line dropped to +5.
Caper..Cuse had no problems I guess.
