USC better learn how to patch up their running game a bit there. Peterson will have a field day with them if they don't fix it.

Sure, Peterson will run for a lot on USC but the team with the most points wins the game. Ask Rodgers of Cal. Carroll will take away the big play from OU, let them run up yards, but keep them out of the endzone.

I agree with you. LSU did not DOMINATE OU. OU could have won that game but LSU made the plays and won the game, but they didn't dominate OU. KSU dominated OU. NOT LSU.

USC is totally overrated. Playing yet another close game against a mediocre, at best, UCLA team. Only team they played ALL YEAR other than Cal was Va Tech, and USC should have lost that if it wasn't for terrible officiating. Auburn #1, OU #2, USC #3; Who cares what USC did last year, cause that is why they are ranked 1st, not for all of their great comebacks this year. Play in a real conference, not the Crap 10.

and you are from where, mjalam? I am biased, I go to Alabama, so I hate that Auburn is the best team in the country. I've watched several USC games, they're overrated, plain and simple, and you can't say they play in a tough conference, with powerhouses like Stanford, Ore., Ore. St., Washington; must I go on?

usc is not the #1 team in the country, but mjalam is correct, usc and cal are definitely the best 1/2 punch out there. okie/texas is close, but usc/cal is the best 1/2

Cal plays another tough schedule. 1 & 2 is all Crap 10 has. SEC has 3 top ten teams, and beat each other up all year while USC and Cal cakewalk through their conference. Hopefully Auburn will jump OU, possibly USC if they don't beat UCLA by 30 and Auburn beats a decent opponent in Tennessee as bad as they did last time, and we'll get to see them play in Miami. GL with your plays.

Auburn is the best all around team in the country, with Oklahoma a close second. So Cal is a solid team but should be the team that is left out if want want to crown a true national championship team. UCLA has one of the softest interior lines on both sides of the bal lin the country after they played Okie State some of the Cowboys were quoted as saying they saw stronger lines in high school. Without a few bullcrap calls in the game USC very well could be behind to a team that is average at best.

i hate to use the elementary approach, but i think its applicable.

if there was no such thing as a preseason ranking and there were no polls until the end of the season, theres no way you can rank usc #1.

who is the most talented team? usc, in a landslide i believe.

who deserves to be #1 right now? i dont see how auburn doesnt deserve to be #1.

who do i think the best team in the country is? oklahoma, at least imo.

usc is the preseason #1.

theyve done nothing to LOSE their ranking.

but they certainly havent done anything to widen the gap.

they deserve to be #1 only because they were preseason #1 and have yet to lose. that is an accomplishment in itself.

but i have a hard time believing that anyone can rank usc ahead of auburn based on whats taken place on the field.

bottom line: its all about what criteria is used to determine a #1 ranking.

Like they're smacking around UCLA, or the way they smacked around Stanford or Oregon St.? I think you mean the way Auburn is smacking around Tenn.

and that has what to do with UCLA backfield? just making a point that UCLA wasn't going to be able to run in the 1st place.
