Oklahoma St -11 over Smoo ***
Cowboys are loaded.Although they have played the Sam Houstons and Arks-Little Rocks and haven't played good,tonite they put it together.In both those games they were down at the half and then blew them away.
Lucas is probaly the best pt gd in the land.Grahram is tough with his brother off the bench.McFarlan at 6'8 can score.Steyn the 7'2 kid is big time space.Bobick can shoot 3's from Mockingbird Lane just a few blocks from Moody Col.Bench has my new fav. name of 2004.James-on Curry from NC.He's a frosh superstar.
Other then Tony Allen everyone else returns.
Smoo has almost everyone back.Simpson and Castro at 6'8 and 6'9 can score.Pearson is a nice fd.Hopkins whose brother starts for NT is turn over prone.The gds tonite will ahve trouble.OSU has done a terible job on the bds so far letting the Sam H's outrebound them.But they have to much defensive pressure on Smoo tonite.Smoo can't shoot 3's either.They are 4-19 and 3-13 this yr.
Smoo beat Montana St in ot last week.And they were down by a few with minuts to go.
Lyr Cowboys beat Smoo 89-54 in Stillwater.Won't be as many but OK St pulls away with 10 minuts to go and wins this by 15-20 pts.
UAB -11 over La Tech ***
In last yrs NCAA's I don't think there was any team that impressed me more then UAB.I took notes back then and was reading them today.Anderson did a great job.He was an asst at Arkansas under Nolan and learned well.His full court pressure,traps,transition,fast breaks,etc,etc.The term "up tempo defense" came from UAB.They have a pair of fds in Eddins and Lewis at 6'7 and 6'8.The Taylor twins,etc.They lost some of there scoring but this team just re-loads.
La Tech has Millsap who led the nation in rebounding.They beat tulane but La-Laf blew them away.Tech gds are ok but tonite they will see what "up tempo" defense is.Dean and Allick will have trouble tonite.UAB is quicker,more athletic and will "press,press,press,till your daddy takes the T-Bird away."
