Carolina travels to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. I think these lines are both too low. I know Indiana will try to slow the pace of the game down as much as they can. I just don't think they will be effective, our team will run at every chance at a tempo few if any teams in this country can keep up with. Indiana has yet to face a mediocre team at best and they have barely beat their two opponents (Indiana State 56-52 and Western Illinois 64-60). The Santa Clara game basically never happened to me, minus felton and playing the 1st game of the season really skews the way that looks. I don't think the fact that the heels will be on the road will matter much in this one. To put it simply...we have the better team by far, who is hitting stride and will come out of the gate quickly. We are scoring 53.5 points in the 1st half this year. If we come out quickly as we have, both of these plays should hit. If we don't have an explosive first half, things might not look as good.

Play:

UNC 1st half -7.5 2u
UNC -13.5 2u

Good luck tonight fellas

HEADLINE: Heels remain winless / Indiana bolts to big early lead, drops North Carolina to 0-3

BYLINE: Barry Svrluga, Staff Writer

BODY:
CHAPEL HILL -- In the quiet of the Smith Center, long before
the game was over but long after much of the crowd had filed out, Indiana basketball coach Mike Davis was complaining about a foul call on his Hoosiers.

"Quit showboating, Coach!" a North Carolina fan yelled.

Davis turned, and looked into the crowd.

"Get you a team," he shot back.

Harsh? Most certainly. But that's what it has come to for the
Tar Heels, who are 0-3 for the first time since 1928-29 and
floundering like they have few times in their history. They are
the buzz of the basketball world, for all the wrong reasons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

A few pieces of information I picked up which make me like these plays even more.

This Season To Date: As can often be the case when relying heavily on youth, the Hoosiers are off to a shaky start. Their record of 2-0 doesn't tell the story of two narrow home wins against Indiana State and Western Illinois. The poor shooting continues (39.4% FG, 29.7% 3pt) and they've been outplayed on the boards.

Starpower: Bracey Wright is the team's top returning scorer, and he leads the team again this year, but his numbers (12.0 ppg) are down and he's only averaged 10 shots per game. While deferring to his teammates might be a good idea at times, he's the team's top outside shooter and Vaden is the only other player in the lineup who appears to be a consistent perimeter threat. The Hoosiers will need bigger numbers from him if they plan on beating North Carolina, as well as their Big Ten opponents.

Rebounding: IU's top rebounder through two games is point guard Marshall Strickland (7.0 rpg) -- that says a lot about the team's rebounding struggles to date. The team is -3.5 in rebounding against it's first two low major opponents and has been fortunate to get solid board numbers out of Pat Ewing (6.0 rpg), since his frontcourt mate, White, hasn't hit the glass hard thus far (1.5 rpg).

One of the more sickening halfs of one sided refs i have seen in a while. I think we will blow this one open, Indiana is shooting horribly or they would be killing us. We have been on the cusp of blowing this open a few times and think we will in the 2nd half.

UNC 2nd half -6.5 (olympic)4

I dont get it .....you are convinced the refs are out to get you but betting your team to cover? If you truly believe the former isnt it crazy to do the latter? Maybe there ia a logic to it I just dont get. GL

Two things don't always have to even out. I thought our team would overcome that. Not sure if you were watching the game but we were on the verge of blowing it open in the 1st half and were up 11 with a minute looking to cover before IU hit some 3s. I wish i could win them all but unfortunately that's betting.

0-3 -5.5u

Remind me to never bet on NC on the road for the rest of the season. These guys are great at home, but they are herendous on the road. These guys will get rolled if they play anyone decent on the road this year. I can't wait for those games so I can unload against them. First Santa Clara, now this pathetic performance tonight? Hopefully Dicky V will keep on hyping them up, and the lines won't be that high when they play some good teams on the road. As I said before, I plan to unload against them when they go on the road against some good competion. This team should make you a lot of money this year. Bet on them when they are at home, and bet even more against them when they are on the road.
