just a couple of replies and articles before kickoff.
laburns:
im not too worried about the early move from toledo -1.5 to miami -2. it looks like its gonna settle around pick at kickoff (which is what i expected the original line to be). miami is the defending mac champ after all, so theyre gonna get their share of backers along with the fact that theyre a good team. im just 'trusting my stuff' on this one. bg opened as a chalk and line dropped closer to gametime last week. looks like its the same type of thing here. thats mac line movement for ya. some real stange moves on these games. some have been accurate, some have been dead wrong.
spang/weasel:
history says under, but toledo on the carpet makes it a pass for me on the total. im not sure what kind of game miami wants to play tonight. i thought the under in the akron/miami game would come through, but miami couldnt shut down frye (as im sure youd agree, class just won out there, but akron offense did lots of good things). im just not sure what to make of this total. if im not mistaken, linesmaker hung a higher # on this game than they did for the first meeting, even after that one ended 23-16 (although there were lots of chances for pts in that one, and weather played a role).truthfully, im stumped by the total, thus a definite pass for me.
all in all, not too concerned about # of posts on this team or that team. before the season started, i felt UT was the best team in the conference. so no reason for me not to put my money on them in a pick'em, winner-take-all game on a neutral field (that favors them anyway). ultimately, theyll decide the game. if theyre good enough (and as good as i think they are), then theyll win and cash. if not, then no regrets. just will give credit to miami for beating the team i thought was best twice in the same season.
