Starting a new thread to ward off of the demons.

Threefer tonight:

Atl +6 not sure why Philly is giving this many on the road where they have sucked, Atl or not

Det +4 (double play) trusting Detroit's D will overcome Dallas' O, especially with the Fro back

Miami under 195- Utah having trouble scoring with out the Krusher, and Miami should sport some D after the Denver debacle

48-26 ytd (including Utah's double wammy loser on Sat)

good luck all!

Everything goes as planned last night, we have a few for tonight...

Indy +3 I will keep taking point with the Pacers at home vs. equal or worse teams, as long as they give them to me.

Cavs over 177 Think Kidd will push a little more with Bron-Bron in the house. James will do the same.

Minn-5 Taking T-Wolves favored at home is poison but they're starting to play very well, and I think they take Dallas behind the ice fishing shed. Changed to 5 as that is the number I got down on.

might add one or two more upon further review, but that's it right now.

staying with the threefer...

52-26 ytd

good luck to all...

Unicorn, keep up the groove. What type of handicapping do you do (winning obviously) - I mean, are you using systems or intuition or voodoo or what man?

I try to use several things when capping the NBA but mainly, I look for some kind of emotional edge, or reason to play. It's hard to find this in the NBA, but I think it's very important. The season is so long, the good teams are bound to play flat, and bad teams are bound to play over their heads. I just try to gauge when that might be based upon previous games, previous performances, and upcoming schedules. I do use trends on occasion, as I think there is something to certain teams continuing to do certain things.

Of course, I look at matchups, stats, etc. but the above factors are really what I base my plays on.

It takes awhile but it's been worth it so far...

Wow! You should definitely keep doing it the same way. Sounds like it is hard work that is paying off. Do you rely on just the previous games scores or do you look down into the box score and game stats of the recent games? I think it is awesome that you have been able to get an angle on the motivational factor. Of course, certainly don't expect you to give away any of your secrets.

1-1-1 last night, with Minnesota pouting instead of playing, and Dirk putting the Nivinksi to me.

Hard card tonight in my opinion, but I'll go with these..

Nugs +4- Denver plays well i Washington, and I just think they're playing better, and need a good start to their Eastern swing.

Atl +6 Like Philly the other night, who is Memphis to give 6 to anyone on the road, including the Hawks, who actually have looked better.

Heat over 193- Run, run, everyone run. Past games have flew over this total, don't want to look too much into it.

SA over 185 Duncan cruised the other night against the Bulls. I think he goes for 30+ tonight and that will help put this over. Seattle doesn't quit, and made a conscious decision to play Seattle over when the total is under 190.

Lakers under 209 Kobe will shot 30+ times. I'm banking he wont' make 1/2 of them, but that won't matter to him.

Forgot two...Toronto +9- Toronto needs a win and what better place to give them false hope? Think they can stay close.

NY under 180 Will continue to bet NO under until they get someone back that can score more than Lee Nailon.

Good luck all...

Ocelot: mostly look at past matchups and what the teams have been doing the last few games. I liked Minny last night because I thought they would put out a big effort due to Spreewell being out. Turns out Dallas wanted the game a little more, and Dirk shot lights out. I would of played Minny tonight as I like good teams coming off of losses (especially SA and Detoit), but Philly needs this game desparately, and should give full effort.

I don't know if it's gauging motivation as I'm certain no psychic. But, you can pickup on how a team is treating a game or a particular road trip, by all of the sources available out there. Good luck!

5-2 last night, with ATL meaninglessly fouling Gasol with 1 second left. Appreciate it.

So far, only one tonight...

Hou over 169 Hopefully Hou has learned their lesson as they can't win playing a slow down, drag out game with SA. After watching Seattle last night, I think McGrady lets fly and it goes over this total. I also like that Sura is running the point. (Got down at 169. Movement my way which isn't always good. I still like it, only action for me tonight)

Kind of like the favorites in all of the games but not at those numbers. And the Dallas game should go over 201!! but, Seattle might still be drunk.

Good luck...

Tough one last night. McGrady let fly, just a little late. Going with these...

Bullets -5
Like Wash losing last game in a game they were favored and NY coming off of an unexpired win. I think they win this one by 8-10.

Heat-5
Heat playing very well and Memphis is not so special on the road.

Nets-8- (double play)
Nets can't afford to let this one go. Played hard vs. Cavs but got a loss, Kidd is already an impact, I think this one is ugly in every sense of the word.

Jazz -3
Talk about a team needing a win. I think Utah can bang with Portland, but have better guard play to cover. They just need to show it.

Orlando -3
Mobley adds a lot of life to this lineup and takes a lot of pressure off everyone. Too many horses for Golden State.

good luck...

Tight night as NJ was never close to covering, and O and Utah pulled it out late, the Jazz in OT. I think Fridays are the most unpredictable night in the NBA. Going with a threefer tonight...

Pulling off of the Detroit over tonight. Didn't realized Sheed was as hurt as it appears he is. That team can't afford to have anyone out that can score. Anyway, subbing in Dallas over 181. Dirk's been on fire, and Finley should be more in rhythm. And hopefully T-Mac will continue to let fly. So, Dall over 181.

Indy +9 Tough game for Sac last night, I think they cruise while Indy will give full effort.

Cavs +11 I know, Spurs coming off of 2 losses but bottom line, the Cavs match up with the Spurs pretty well. In fact, I'm not sure what they'll do with Bron. Top it off with a disaster at Chicago, I think the Cavs give the Spurs all they want. Kind of like the over here too but not enough to make it a play.

Good luck all.

61-33 ytd
heyes

Dirtybirds-I liked Philly last night but couldn't pull the trigger after the way Chicago played against Clev the other night. I guess I should have.

1-2 tonight with a bad beat with Dallas over. Can't be pissed about Cavs effort. SA just decided to show why they are the best team in the land, by far. :scared

One right now...

Toronto +7-
Game under their belt without Carter. I think they can hang.

Adding Orlando +4

Bad beats getting old. Need to look hard at reducing the number of plays until I start rolling again.

Good luck...
