michigan wolverines (+7)
michigan wolverines moneyline (+250)
michigan 2nd half (+4.5) (even) (posted in HT thread)

horns sprint to the regular season finish line combined with michigan's lame performance in columbus makes for a bit of an inflated line here imo. if wolverines get dominated in pasadena by 7+ pts in two straight years then ill be the first to give props to texas. big 10 was nothing special this year, but no secret that ive felt michigan is much better than anyone in the conference. also feel like when michigan plays to their potential, theyre a top 5 team. i think theyll play like it today.

utah utes (-13.5)
utah utes first quarter (-3)

add: utah 3rd quarter over 13.5 (-145)

precipitous line drop in this one, but really believe utah lays an ass beating on pittsburgh. although this is the first of what should be many bcs appearances by a meyer-coached team, i really think the utes want a dominant win to close out their record-breaking year. no secret that teams with coaching controversies/departures have not fared well this bowl season but it seems like the utah players genuinely want to play for meyer and they pretty much knew his promotion was inevitable. looking for a fast start in the 1st quarter (a trademark of meyer's teams) and a dominant effort on the national stage. utah is every bit as good as their ranking.

I agree about Michigan but a little scared because I think the coaching is always suspect . . .too conservative in nature. That being said, I think the points are the way to go as well and the ML has some nice value

Gman Happy New Year to you

Like your stuff and great analysis

I believe that Michigan will win this game outright.Texas is very much a one -dimensional offense {rushing) and with MICHIGANS speed on defense that going to be a problem for them.

Michigan on the other hand can mix it up really well with the running of freshman RB and passing of QB . Not to mention Edwards last game in blue and gold i really feel mICHIGAN is the solid pick this afternoon.

Liking the Mich

Liking the Mich

G,
The line is at 7.5 at betroyal if interested. Also am looking at the over but a little hesitant. Looking at the Utes and am going to hit the 1st Q over 13.5 as I think 2 TD's should be by the Utes alone.

Something to consider:

Michigan's defense has had major problems in the past against mobile quarterbacks. . . Benson is probably the best in the country. Athletic wise, Michigan stacks up with Texas, no question about it. I just think the Wolverines always seem to be outcoached given Carr's conservative nature. . . he waits until the 4th quarter when Michigan is in trouble to open the gate and allow Henne to throw 30 yard passes to Edwards. Otherwise its short passes that aren't designed properly to gain first downs. . . maybe he's learned his lesson over the past month but I doubt it.

Just wanted to add some additional thoughts

msm:

normally id say that the half-point would make a difference since its only a 15:00 bet, but really feel utah will be up at least 7 points heading into the 2nd quarter. utes score touchdowns; they dont kick a whole lot of field goals so id be willing to lay up to 4 for the 1st quarter. gl man.

nickel:

good points. always seems like carr is trying to manage the game with superior talent. doesnt always make sense.

He just ticks me off because when a team comes out roaring, Michigan sits back like they'll have plenty of opportunities to get back in the game in the 4th quarter. If the Wolves can keep it close in the first half, they definitely have solid value at +7 or +7.5

g....i agree....particularly on the 1st qtr bet.....even though they are a prohibitive fave, they are coming from a non-bcs conference...... i believe that this whole year has been about getting some respect for them.....

an undefeated season...possibly a top 7 ranking...

don`t see those all that often at utah......g.l.

Seems like both TX and MICH score alot more in the 2H, will wait for 1/2-time to see the total. Would take the under in the 1H, but dont like the number.

utah 3rd quarter over 13.5 (-145)

utah is doing pretty much whatever they want on offense. smith is basically running a 7-on-7 skeleton. pitt has done a good job of keeping the utah offense on the sidelines but utes get the opening kick in the 3rd quarter and i dont see pittsburgh stopping them. utes 'should' have the ball at least 3 times in the 3rd and i think the lead will be stretched out even more. pittsburgh should be in full pass-mode, and think were gonna see 2 or 3 TDs in the 3rd. scoring should pick up. heavy juice, but worth it imo

alright fellas. thats it for me for the 04-05 ncaa football season.

pretty fitting that the coach/team that has been the best to me over the years cash my final bowl plays. florida is getting something incredibly special in meyer.

had a nice run to end the season. 18-8 bowls and 31 of L39 overall with some moneyline dogs mixed in. not a big numbers guy though- they mean little to me. really just enjoy the exchange of info from all the solid guys here.

hopefully some of the pieces of info or writeups throughout the course of the season ended up being benefical to someone reading. i know some feel writeups are superfluous and thats understandable. just hope some stuff that i posted was helpful. if so, then it was worth the time to post.

catch you guys over in the college basketball forum.

good luck to all with the final two games. and thanks to all those who posted great info that led to some easy coat tail winners. you all know who you are.
