buffalo bulls over 149

although early records dont show it, this one is a matchup of the two teams picked to win it all in their respective sides of the conference.

this is also a rematch of one of the best games in the mac tourney last year (quarterfinal game at gund arena, toledo won 97-85).

was at that game and let me say this: the pace was up and down the floor in a big way. both teams love to run, and both teams have guys that can shoot the 3ball. neither team could stop one another. it was just great offensive basketball.

triplett had a phenomenal game for toledo in that one (29 points in a variety of ways) and thats not surprising, considering he averages 20+ against buffalo in his career.

buffalo has the size inside that can give toledo some problems too. their bigs were in foul trouble early in that one, so they didnt get a chance to establish themselves.

buffalo has really been putting up some points at home this year. toledo defense on the road has left a lot to be desired.

my hesitation on playing buffalo for the game?

buffalo has NEVER beaten toledo.
0-8 all-time. small sample, but still enough to scare me off of them. toledo owns this team for right now.

as long as this total is < 158, im gonna hit it for a strong play.

Toledo also won the other game last year 88-83, this should be a track meet, but this is also a much better buff team then in the past they have solid vets and so far strong at home and toledo not so great on the road so far, think it goes over also and think buff wins you will laugh by 8-10 points.

Good luck on the play if you get your number which I think it will be less then what you have up i say 148-150 just because toledos road avg scores, but you can throw those out in a game where they both will run and gun.

I agree with Fletcher here. . . I think Buffalo wins this and covers the spread despite the fact that Toledo has owned them. It was the same for Santa Clara over Gonzaga. . . I got burned a couple days ago because I went the other way with a road team that dominated another by 10+ games in a row and they lost as well.

The point: Vegas knows this and adjusts the line because cappers will uncover this information. It only makes even more valuable to take the favorite and lay the points.

buffalo could win by 12-14 points and i wouldnt be totally shocked. this team is legit. toledo is the ultimate enigma. they have yet to really put two halves together this season. triplett is really carrying them right now. villegas is a lights-out shooter, but hes slumped out of the gate at like 33 or 34% from the field. i dont think theres any question that buffalo has been more consistent this season though. but still am hesitant to play buffalo as a chalk because every now and then, they revert back to being 'the old bulls'. both teams are incredibly talented though.

gotta be honest though -- im not holding my breath hoping for a 148 or 150. i think im lookin at a minimum of 154. but we'll see. (i hope im wrong!)

I love the bulls today. they return home after nearly three weeks on the road and have the opportunity to make a big statement today. Toledo's offense sucks, it seems that their first option is to hoist a long three nearly every trip down the floor. Thats great if your hitting them, but as I'm sure that you are aware, the Rockets have been laying bricks all season. Villegas did show some signs of life vs, the Zips but will he be there today? God only knows. I think what will really hurt Toledo today is their inability to rebound well. I look for the Bulls to win the battle of the glass and get a few second chance put backs. To me, that is the biggest factor.

I must admit that I have always been critical of Joplin. After seeing them several times over the last few years, I always leave the building thinking he could get much more out of his teams. I am trying however to remain unbiased when 'capping this game and am not concerned about the streak. I think if Toledo does not shoot an incredible number from beyond the arc Buffalo rolls.

I think that they will toss out a big number on the total, around 157 or so. Good luck
