Chattanooga Mocs -7.5 over Elon ******* very strong play.
Elon is having a tough season.There 4-9 ats and 0-3 at home.They can't score,can't shoot can't play defense,shoot Ft's,etc.They won there 1st game and have lost the next 13 or 14 games.
There best player 6'6 Atoyebi is a 1st team all conf player.There next best player Nowlin can shoot 3's.Lyr he hit over 80.
The problem is Atoy is out for the season after playing 6 games avg 14 pts and Nowlin quit the team.
That leaves Elon with one double digit scorer in 6'4 gd Rice.Checko,Watson,Wyatt are there next 3 top scorers avg 7,6,and 6 pts. Harris is there top rebounder avg 4 bds a game.He's 6'5.
Mocs have the two top players in the conf in 6'9 Katelynas and 6'7 Brown.Kat avg 12 pts and 9 bds and shoots 65% FG.Brown can score and bang inside.Pugh and Anderson are 6'6 and avg 8 and 7 pts.Cherry and Long are solid gds.This team avgs 76 pts a game and shoots 46 FG%.FT % is 66 not to great but Elon is one of the worst in the nation on the FT line at 56%.
Brown and Kat are tough matchups for Elon tonite.This is a double digit win by 12-20 pts.
Mocs are 3-1 away ats and lyr were 8-3 on the road.Thats 11-4 ats in last 15 away games.
Cuse -2.5 over Notre Dame **
A lot of talk about Cuses 1st game out of NY.How about every time ND plays Cuse the 1st time Cuse wins.Seeing the 2-3 zone the 1st time has an effect on every team.ND has Quinn and Falls that can shoot the eyes out of any zone.Thomas a decent pt gd to attack it.Decent front line,etc. But ND can't play defense.Nova exposed them big time even though ND won.
Cuse with Warrick and Mac are tough.Edlein is back and Pace is a lefty scoring machine.Cuse is quicker and can control the bds.I think its a close game but don't think ND can stop Cuse gds penetrating,kicking out to Mac or stopping Warrick who is explosive.
Iona -1 over Canisius *
Iona owns the Griffs winning the past 8.Iona has much more talent.Burtt and Solivar can dominate at the gds.Jenkins and Hinson can score in the paint.Downey,Doss and co have won a few in a row after losing there 1st 10 games.Iona has lost 8 of last 10.Ruland can't coach.after there 1st or 2nd plays its all free lance.Iona had Niagara on the ropes but lost by 2.There 0-7 away and 0-4 in the MAAC. But this isn't about wins and losses guys.It's about ATS and Iona is 7-4.Griffs have been the worst team in the MAAC the past couple yrs.Iona wins this on the road..Only playing one * because I'm 0-4 in my last MAAC games.
