im ice cold the last two days, so play or fade as you see fit.

im being very selective with these csu games this season because they are not a good road team. they did, however, come through for spang and me the one and only time we played 'em back in december in akron. really think this is the right time to give 'em shot #2.

cleveland state vikings (+10)

uwgb is overachieving a little bit and thats the reason this number is in double-digits. theyre alone in 1st place right now in the horizon but i think when its all said and done, theyll probably settle around 4th or 5th place.

these two teams played twice last year.
the game in green bay was a 70-69 green bay win that was decided in the final 0:50.
the game in cleveland was a 60-58 green bay win that was decided at the buzzer when rohde went the length of the floor and scored to win it.
3 points separated these two last year.

vikings finally got the monkey off their back with a pretty solid win at home on saturday. obviously youngstown blows but i was admittedly surprised to see csu actually cover the big number (-11.5) that vegas threw up there for that one. a lot of guys played well. westley went for 20, moss went for 16, and redell played a solid floor game and is starting to develop into a nice point guard for them.

the task is gonna be much tough in green bay, but they catch the phoenix in a textbook sandwich spot. uwgb just had a huge win in butler (a team that had owned them for awhile) saturday and theyre staring at a huge game with rival and conference favorite wisconsin-milwaukee up next. in between, theyre making a quick stop home to play an inferior foe (cleveland state).

no reason the vikings cant play well here. theyre probably not gonna get uwgb's best effort, and csu finally got some confidence over the weekend by getting that elusive horizon win. if the vikings cant hang in single-digits then theyre not making as much progress as i thought.

i hate when you and fletch have opposite picks.

i gotta stay off this one now, or go with him and wisc gb.

i honestly know nothing about either of these teams, but would have took cl st because of your write up but now turning heads after the master took the opposite. damn! i hate that

i was all set to dis cleve state, with their 18 consecutive horizon road losses and all, but then i see that wisc-gb is the most popular consensus favorite of the day. hmmmm.

loophole:

im not trying to make csu out to be a prize, but they were a snakebitten program last year with all their injuries and suspensions (dressing 7 guys for some games late in the season). theyve had some injuries this year too. im not saying that justifies them losing 18 straight on the road. they still turn the ball over too much and do shit that makes you say 'what the fu.ck?' , but in terms of pure talent, its not a stretch to say that they are in the top 5 in the conference. hell, westley is getting looked at by a lot of pro scouts (unfortunately his attitude is shit sometimes). this is hardly a david vs. goliath game tonight. uwgb is decent, but theyre still not in the milwaukee/butler/illinois-chicago league (although they upset butler at hinkle last saturday, which was surprising). whether or not csu finally learns how to win on the road (i just want em to compete in single digits) remains to be seen. but i think the chances are good that theyll perform well here.

hey g-man, is patrick tatham playing? they could use the size

i dont believe so. i made my bet under the assumption that hes NOT playing. im gonna check out the pregame interview with garland to see what tatham's official status is. if he does play, then it makes me feel even better about this one. im not even sure what the exact injury is. all i heard was that he suffered an ankle injury during pregame against loyola last week. like you said though -- csu can use his size. he was developing into a nice inside player for them.

tatham is not starting. the lineup for csu is westley, mcgee, morris, redell, and raheem moss. garland didnt mention anything about tatham in the pregame when he was talking about how they were going to attack uwgb offensively, so it looks like hes still out. but i like the 5 garland is starting the game with

thanks boys. even csu's radio guy was saying how they looked like a different team after getting the monkey off their back with saturday's win.

omari westley played like a monster. believe he finished with 35 or 36. when he comes to play, there arent many players in the conference better than him besides mccants from uwm and banks for uic. only problem is his consistency. hes gotta bring this kind of game every night and the vikings can start to put some wins together.

vyrus- uwgb just went nuts from 3pt land for a little bit. thats where csu lost the outright. otherwise, never really in doubt.

Good call G, I see that you changed avatars to bust your slump. I may try the same strategy. After a wonderful start to the season, I have pissed away the bulk of the profits the past week or so.

EMU -2 tomorrow looks quite enticing to me. Thoughts?

just saw the box score.

green bay had 13 threes tonight. yikes.

and westley had more than i thought for csu. 38 points. 9 boards.
hopefully that knucklehead brings that game the rest of the season.

spang - just posted a thread on emu, lol. love 'em.
