ACC Tuesday (Wake/Maryland)

I see this game total set up very similar to the wake/unc game. Both games have similar game and halftime totals. Wake is pretty equivalent to UNC as far as what they put up at home. Maryland did not shoot well outside of the 1st 8 mins against the heels. The 1st half total was 82 in the heels/terps game. After scoring 20 points in the 1st 3 mins, there was a dry period, with the half ending on an agonizing 81 points. Even still, it was the correct play, I'd make it again which is why I'm playing this one tonight. Same situation, except this time around I don't expect Maryland to go through the drought they did against us.

ostensibly, a very solid play.
my main concern is maryland trying to slow the pace of the game down after letting carolina run them out of the gym last time out. like you said, wake and carolina are both similar in style and personnel. so there might be nothing that the terps can do about it. but im leery of williams making sure the game is played at a more reasonable pace in the 1st 10:00. what carolina did to maryland was embarrassing for the terps

That is something that I considered gman. Obviously there is no way to know 100%, but my feeling is that they will run with wake. Here is why...Maryland didn't lose to us per say because they got outrun (at least int he 2nd half they did due to exhaustion), but the 1st 10 mins they ran with us and points were up in a hurry. I think about 50 in the 1st 10 mins. Maryland just stopped hitting shots, which I hope will not be the case against wake. It's not in Gary's personality IMO to change his gameplan, they are better if they run, and at least in the 1st half i am banking on them to do it.

half isn't over but this one is cooked, pace started out too slow w/ sloppy play, picked up after that.
Both teams a collective 3-10 from the charity stripe, no way to predict that.
