Duke opened up at -3 against NC State? :thinking: That seems like a tough play (sarcasm). So I say to myself, "whats the catch?" Maybe somebody from Duke is hurt? Then I look into it and say that nobody from Duke is hurt and as a matter of fact Hodges (NCST) is probable and Bethel (NCST) is doubtful. This seems like a gift. Duke is undefeated and NCST has lost 3 in a row, to average teams (St Johns, WV and Miami). So why in the hell would I not put my house on Duke? Then I watch the line movement and everyone of course is on Duke and the line is now Duke -5. This is exactly what Vegas wants and somehow (maybe fixed?), Duke will not cover.

Unless I am clueless, why else would the line be so low on what appears to be a lopsided game?

Please provide feedback.

Fab,,,i totally disagre...........if Vegas wanted everyone to play Duke, the line would have moved in the OPPOSITE direction...making Duke look even more attractive

Vegas set the line low so everyone would take Duke, then they adjust their line based on action. The line is moving up, indicating all the action on Duke just where vegas wants it. I really think Duke should wipe them off the court, but I also expected the line to be Duke -9. Anytime a line seems too good to be true it is. IE last nights line on Miss St and Texas.

Duke team is good, not great, and has played no games on anyones's home court yet. I think they've lost the last 2 at NC State if I can remember correctly and the rivalry has been heated the past 5 years or so.

Regardless I like Reddick's kids tonight. They should win by 10.

I am going to let the line fool me. I would have taken Duke if they were a 8 or 9 point favorate. But I went with NC State +5.5. I would not let myself fall into what looks like a huge trap. I maybe wrong and the better team may win. We will see

I still don't see how you can call this game a trap, when Duke was a solidn favorite. Plus, in a trap, the line would have stayed the same or come down, to entice more Duke bettors.
I was shocked to see the opening line with Duke a road fave to begijn with.

This is one of the worst defensive halfs I have ever seen, Duke's keeps collapsomg on people no where near the basket only to leave the inside completely open, happened at least 4 times in the 1st half, wow....

This game wasn't a trap IMO, the line was where it needed to be. I posted last night on someone's thread why state would win this game and i said to wait cause joe public would drive the line up several points, and there it is state getting way too many points. They will win this game dook will be exposed for the average team they are.

I saw some books take HEAVY Duke first half action just moments beore game started. Some had Duke -2.5 -140 for first half. Imagine getting NCSU +2.5 and +120 in first half. Too bad I has no funds in my account left there!

Just curious if you bet on NC State thinking they were favored?? If so what line did you bang 'em at?

Secondly just my opinion but I don't think I would ever bet on a certain team just because the public is going heavily in one direction. I think everyone was on Duke for a reason. Cap the hell out of the game and screw everyone else bro. Good luck tomorrow

you loved duke early in the day then decide to take nc st +5.5 so the line wouldn't fool you. get rid of that mindset and trust your instincts. everytime there is a "questionable line" it isn't vegas trying to trick you. duke struggles on the road and its a tough conference to play on the road, the line looked pretty solid to me. if you take conf road fav's consistently you will be out of money quick. i stayed clear because i don't trust duke outside of cameron but nc st has shown no offense recently.
