Ok just got my new bigscreen and the picture sucks because we have to get some cable card to put in the back. My question is I can get digital cable with the on demand stuff and like 40 channels for 53 a month. It will have the local networks and ESPN and Discovery in HD. My other option is Dish we have free installation and like 50 off first bill promotion thing but to get the Golf Channel which I MUST have it is 60 a month but I get like 180 channels but have to do rabbit ears for local and all that. Need help which way to go?? BSU HELP!!

I have insight digital cable in Pendleton and it is okay, we do get the golf channel with digital cable. I have never had the dish because of cable broadband.

I know people that have both dish and direct tv. I think direct tv is better and if you get a direct tivo it is awesome. But I think you got an HDTV, so you must get an hd package also. Not sure of your cable company where you live

So digital cable looks alot better? Our regular cable looks real grainy I guess would be how to describe it. I think we might do the dish I mean its only 7.00 more but you get 180 channels VS 40. But I wonder about the quality and storms passing through messing it up and also dealing with the local channel thing. Someone help!!!.

Now on my DVD player I have a question :cursin: We got this brand new top of the line HDMI player. But when I watch a movie there is like 6 inches of a black bar above and below the picture. So I thought that was the point of a widescreen was the picture would fit now. We can zoom it in but then its all distorted. This thing has like 400 different settings like 480, 720, 1080  wTF does all this mean. My TV also has like 16:9 standard, 4:3 zoom??WTF is all that ? Cards get your ass over here and help me out. I will take you to Outback or something.

there are different companies.

directv is the best they are the only one w/sunday ticket for football. You can sign up through best buys, got the tivo system their for $79 bucks.

I jettisoned the cable last year and went with Direct TV-Tivo combo, mainly to get the Sunday ticket. More channel choices than any man needs. I live in So.Cal, so weather isn't a factor, but I have never lost a signal.... :)

well since i work for Comcast i would recommend getting it but it really depends what you want. if you want a low price, probably Direct Tv or Dish would be the way to go. I will be the first to admit Comcast is more money, but you are going to get more. On Demand is great and that is something Direct or Dish will never have. you also don't need phonelines or boxes on other tvs. and if your cable did go out, Comcast won't charge you. the High Speed Internet is great as well and if you live in Indy, I believe you can get the Voice over IP as well.
