and your point is? Id love to see this in print.

My point is that precisely two black QB's have ever played in a Super Bowl. One was a backup who wouldn't have played w/o an injury to the starter. I am also a firm believer that the NFL (and pro sports in general) can and will be manipulated by those with an agenda.

The NFL's largest audience is blue collar white males. And whether or not you want to believe it, there are plenty in that demographic who would much rather see Jake Delhomme or Peyton Manning play in a Super Bowl than Donovan McNabb or Daunte Culpepper.

I really hope that you aren't saying the NFL is plotting against black qbs. That is the dumbest thing I've EVER heard.

I don't know if "plotting against black QB's" is the way I would put it, but you certainly have to wonder why only two have ever played in a Super Bowl.

Early weather reports saying it will be around 20 degrees at kickoff, edge to the Pats.

Best of luck GM personally I like the play.

maybe you can get David Duke to lend the magic bullet theory to this ... my gawd, sometimes this forum is more amusing than seinfeld reruns: Castanza fishing for the marbled rye.

Did Gary Anderson deliberately miss his only FG of the year to keep Moon outta Super Bowl? Did the Oiler's DC tell his team in 1992 to lay down at halftime after leading 35-3? Did Rozelle plant drugs in Jefferson Street Joe's locker to get Bradshaw to right the Steeler ship and pilot 4 Super Bowl wins? Gov. John Connolly takes a carbine bullet for the team!

I think this is Peyton's year. Out with the old, and in with the new.

The Colts are going to get their points, no question. Numbers and records aside, Manning will atone for last year's loss.

If this game is officiated anything like last year's, New England may have a chance to stay close and have Adam win it late. Regardless of what Dungy will admit in the press, New Englands borderline-dirty style of defending in last years AFC championship game changed the complexion of that matchup in a big way.

Furthermore, are you going to tell me that a team minus Ty Law and Tyrone Poole are going to be successful while replacing them with the likes of rookie Randall Gay, second-year players Asante Samuel and Eugene Wilson, third-year starters Earthwind Moreland and Troy Brown, a WR who has been doubling as cornerback this year?

Sure, Indy doesn't have the stoutest defense you'll see but they're aren't exactly a sieve, either. Indianapolis also led the league in turnover differential and have more momentum coming into this. I could go on but can't. My wife needs me.

Gotta go with Indy sorry bro.

From the 4bubba forum...

From the 4bubba forum...

Indianapolis offense vs. New England defense -------------------------------------------- Key Matchups: QB Peyton Manning vs. NFL's 17th-ranked pass defense RB Edgerrin James vs. NFL's 6th-ranked run defense TEs Marcus Pollard and Dallas Clark vs. SS Rodney Harrison WR Marvin Harrison vs. RCB Asante Samuel WR Reggie Wayne vs. LCB Randall Gay

Manning was intercepted four times in last year's AFC championship game loss at New England, But Ty Law had three of them and he will not play due to a broken left foot. Tyrone Poole - New England's other starting cornerback - also is on injured reserve. So now is the time for Manning to finally beat the Patriots with his stable of receivers - Harrison, Wayne and Brandon Stokley - and tight ends - Pollard and Clark - matching up against the likes of Samuel, Gay and Earthwind Moreland. With a shorthanded secondary, this will be Belichick's greatest challenge. A blustery, windy day would be appreciated by the Patriots.

New England offense vs. Indianapolis defense --------------------------------------------

Key Matchups: QB Tom Brady vs. NFL's 29th-ranked pass defense RB Corey Dillon vs. NFL's 24th-ranked run defense LT Matt Light vs. RE Dwight Freeney TEs Daniel Graham and Christian Fauria vs. SS Mike Doss WR David Givens vs. RCB Jason David

Brady flourishes against the Colts and will probably need to put up more than 30 points this time. Dillon rushed for more than 90 yards in the season opener aganst the Colts. Linebackers Rob Morris and Cato June cannot key on Dillon because they will need to help on Brady's passes to the tight ends. The Colts need ends Freeney and Robert Mathis, who may not play due to a knee injury, to pressure Brady, or else they will struggle to contain New England's diversified attack. Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis also will use four-receiver sets with Givens, Deion Branch, Troy Brown and David Patten along with two tight-end sets. Dungy is a defensive coach, but has not been able to come up with a scheme that has bothered Brady.

I don't know how anyone can put there money on an Indy team with that defense, on the road, on the real stuff, and outside.

GL All :)

Just a footnote:

The teams (all 4) that led at halftime last week won the game outright.

Lean towards the Pats in the game as well

Here's some strange stuff....(from Carib)....

Odds To Win The 2005 Super Bowl XXXlX (All Bets Action)(Updated 01/10) 04:30 pm

Steelers +140
Colts +250
Patriots +350
Eagles +350
Falcons +1200
Vikings +2600
Jets +3000
Rams +3500

Odds To Win The 2005 AFC Championship (All Bets Are Action)(Updated 01/10) 04:30 pm

Steelers -110
Patriots +220
Colts +275
Jets +1380

I saw similar props at CRIS but they've been taken down now.

So, this tells us...

? The Colts are underdogs this weekend, yet are considered more likely to win the Superbowl than the Patriots (quite a bit more likely);
? The Colts are considered more likely to win the Superbowl than they are to win their conference.

Hmmm....ok.....

Anyone betting on them to win the Superbowl at those odds has to have their head examined, quick. Why would anybody make this bet when you could bet them to win one fewer game and get a better payoff for it??

Nice catch on the GM, the vast majority would never notice it.
Good Luck on that play today, I'll be glued to the TV to see who my Steelers end up playing.

Congrats on your nice win, GM. You deserve it as I know you put a lotta work into research & study & you had the balls to not only play it but post it , too. I hope this salvages (plus) what you mentioned was a sub par season for you.........I had them, too, but only for 2 units, 1 unit at first and another unit when I saw it was gonna snow today plus a "pizza money only" parlay with the under. GL & Hit 2 Next Week..........THE HITMAN

Thanks guys. This one was really satisfying. That crazy line movement really had me wondering for a while...glad I stuck with my first instinct, it is usually correct. Also cashed a unit on the Under and a unit on the 2H Under. Wooohoooo!!! +7 units sure feels good!

My only regret is we won't get to see Indy favored by 3+ @ Pitt next week (that's the line Olympic had up at last check).

Congrats to all the Patriot backers!! :142lmao: :spotting: :toast:

I love it when a plan comes together. :)

Hitman - Ya, I'm back in the black now. Three horrible weeks (Week 1, 4, and 8) had me in the red deep. Been clawing back ever since, and waiting all year for something to pull the trigger on.

Doc - You're on. :toast:
