2003:

Tenn -1? @ Balt (Wildcard Round) : Tenn won 20-17 (Tenn opened at and stayed at -1?)

2002 & 2001:

No home underdogs.

2000:

Indy -1? @ Miami (Wildcard) : Miami won 23-17 (OT) (Indy opened at -1)
St Louis -6? @ New Orleans (Wildcard) : New Orleans won 31-28 (StL opened at -5?)
Tampa Bay -3 @ Philly (Wildcard) : Philly won 21-3 (TB opened at -2?)
Minn -2? @ NYG (Conf. Final) : NYG won 41-0 (NYG opened at -1)

1999:

No home underdogs.

=======================================

That's as far back as my records go.
One game with no line movement, road fav covered. In the other 4, the line movement was towards the road fav, and was wrong every time.

Very early (unofficial) line on the NE/Pitt game @ Olympic was Pitt -2?, on Saturday. Quickly moved a ton to NE -2?, and later NE -3, shortly after NE game this past Sunday ended.

The Steelers really have to be the play here. I still can't believe that a 16-1 team is getting points at home.

Notice most of those home dogs (with the exception of New Orleans) were teams that thrived on defence. And even in the case of New Orleans, the bettors were swayed by the team with the better offence. Defence doesn't get the respect that offence does....hmmm....

Only one of those road teams (TB) is a team that you would call "defensive".
