kent state flashes 1st half (-3.5)
if the scheduling was a little better for this game, id be really hammering kent for both the 1st half and the game. the only reason im just gonna keep it as a normal play is because i dont like the fact that kent is playing their 5th game in 11 days. i have no clue why the hell kent takes these mid-season non-conference games every year. playing a meaningless game vs IPFW in the middle of a tough stretch of mac games does little to help the flashes and it forces them to play what (tonight) will be their 3rd game in 5 days.
the schedule is the only thing that might save buffalo because kent has absolutely owned the bulls in the MAAC Center recently. bulls have struggled to even be competitive. obviously bulls are a better team now, but guys like turner battle have been in the buffalo program for awhile now and they gotta have nightmares of this place.
kent might be one of the best 1st half home teams in mid-major basketball, if not the country. they just jump on you from the opening tip, seem to knock down a couple 3s, force some turnovers, and then theyre up 10-12 before the visitor has a chance to settle in. kent's last two home games were perfect examples of this. emich and miami both came in with solid teams that were capable of competing. but ksu jumped on both early (led miami by double-digits before the 2nd media timeout, led eastern michigan by double-digits right after the 2nd media timeout) and then put it on cruise control from there.
kent likely to have a sour taste in their mouth after getting ripped a new one by wmu and ohio on the road last week. MAAC Center should provide some nice home cooking and the bulls might be taking another one on the chin here.
just hate the # of gms kent has played within the last week and thats all thats keeping this from being a bigger play
ohio bobcats (-2)
in a rush, so will add more to this thread in an hour or so.
